Hpa/Undercurrent hybrid blackberry fire attempt

I'm going to do a trellis for sure but that just supports it laterally but not vertically unless I'm seeing this wrong. I meant more in terms of supporting the entire weight of the plant than the individual branches.

Why I ended up using yoyo's to support the plant so the entire plant isn't resting on the stem and root mass.

Or am I just over thinking the entire issue?

When it gets really big and heavy then perhaps you need all the support.
But most of the time it is enough to make sure your plant and/or your netpot does not flip over.
The several branches are all supported by the trellis. That will divide the weight as well.
The rootball also gives support.
A stem can almost always support the weight of the plant.
If not, you either have a weak plant, of you grow huge cola's

But I think it is smart to have the yoyo's as well.
Better safe then sorry.

Besides cost any reason not to use the thicker stretchy trellis? I'd like to use something that will hopefully last.

Like this one.

The advantage of the plastic ones, is that you can just cut them to pieces.
So no need to carefully take the branches out; just cut around your branches.
Besides that, you can have one trellis net at 1 foot high, another one at 2 feet, and perhaps even one at 3 or 4 feet.
It costs almost nothing.

Thought I'd share something that helps me in my grow that I learned from a well informed megalomaniac on another forum.

I used to add nutes and ph balancing additives to my epi center which worked fine enough but not great. One of the disadvantages to working this way is the affect they had on the root systems in a descending order. The plants in the front of the line always showed symptoms before each column following.

Now I use another reservoir that is 15 gallons that is 100ppm higher than the system. It also has a ph lower than the system as well. By doing this it allows you to steer the nutrient solution in whatever direction you need. If you use any sort of bennies or sterile additives you can add them to your reservoir as well allowing you to constantly seed your system.

Just thought I would share some of the great advice that was shared with me.

If anyone reads this,

How do you support your aero plants considering they have nothing holding them besides a puck?

I ended up going with a yoyo hanger for each stem about half way down connected to the roof of the tent.

I found this in a Bed Baath and Beyond store. There is enough to cover 2 x 6 (each rod is ~ 18") It might be in their on line catalog

Yeah, I bought those after reading your "other" thread on "another" site. They just seem difficult to use on a larger scale and aren't very sturdy. I'm just going the lazy route this time but will be building a connected scrog on each bucket for next grow.

These roots are crazy out of control. They're starting to branch out so far its getting hard to close the lid safely on a 13g tote.

The below photo is just 4 days.

Why does my system keep producing algea from the 1" black return line from the end of the rdwc to the pump? Its about 6 feet long and completely solid black. It's a basic hydroponic return line.

Yet there is no algea to very little anywhere else in my system.

To stop the spread of the shit I poures straight 33%h2o2 into the tube and my pump and chiller and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then I ran my system until 2.5 gallons ran through that part of the system. If I didn't get it all out it should at the very least all be dead hopefully.

My roots are easily twice the size they were in pure rdwc last great grow I had. I'm concerned I'm going to run out of room. Some of the root balls are less than an inch away from the misters already.

Not to mention, how does any nutrient solution get into the center of the root mass?

Homie.
Are you adding any Si?
What is your nute profile?

Algae is coming from light leaks..
I thought you was running beenies?
And dont you have a chiller?

Yes I'm using Si which helps in brown algea growth.

Light leaks cause green algea but not brown algea which is what I believe I have. Not saying I don't have any just saying there's none where the algea is growing, for sure.

No bennies this grow just sterile.

Yes running a chiller at 66-69

As for my nutrient profile it is as below as of now plus the use of nitrates and nutrients increase the growth of brown algea as well.

It's growing in the dark places not the places with possible light leaks.

Understood. I didnt see that you called it brown algae.
I beleive its pythuim.
When you say sterile, u mean with uc roots, hydrogaurd, or bleach? Pool shock?
H202?
Plants look great tho..
You got misters dont you?
Alot of bad places for pythuim to hide and wait for the right time to strike.
Is this your first sterile run?

I believe it's left over in the system from when I used tap when my ro went to shit but fixed now. This is what my ro filter and inline 50mic hydro system filter look like from using tap.
