Huge Multi-Strain Perpetual Grow! 1000ks of Wattz!

everything is going good. i think about another week ill be adding another 600 watt big kahuna and putting 3 big bangs into flower as well as 2 white skunk. ph is maintaining around 7.0 buds are looking small, but it is because i did not trim my branches near the stem so the bud sites are ALL over the plant, i know for the future i will be pruning them really nice before they go into flowering next.

my new church and big bang that were transplanted are TAKING OFF! the organicide i use works, but smells like shit so i am going to discontinue using it and get safer kill all and neem oil to battle my mite issue

you got more experience than me, but from what ive learned... yes
those lower buds will be more airy cuz of the lack of light. blow up the top buds with some trimming on the lower parts

thank you very much! i figured as much, im thinking every branch that is a foot lower than the top canopy ill trim the first couple bud sites off closest to the stem so it focuses more on the tips of each branch receiving the most light. i just dont wanna over do it!

and as well is growing 3' plants a better idea than growing 12" plants?

i think it depends on your light if your running 1000watt than a 3 foot plant wouldnt turn out horrible you might want to trim the bottom 1/4 of the plant of bud sites, i like to LST but now that i have tall ceilings i stoped and just flip them to 12/12 once they hit 12in. so they get size really depening on strain specific stretch.

but you can obiviously fit more 12" plants than 3footers, im doing a test run once i get another 1000watt. that im going to run 6 plants in 7gal containers under one lamp and as many as i can fit 3gal containers under the other light and tell you the results, on bud per light per plants also nute and water usage.

im working with 600 watt hps air cooled. the lights can stay 1/2 a foot away without temps reaching over 85..

ya i run a aircooled 1000 i usually have mine about 8-12in but its been cooler cant get my temps over 75F

but i also run in a shed not a house :(

well Streets - I made it over here - NICE journal..... you do great work girl! I love the church - have many of her in my garden now too - (as you saw). I'm sub'd... I love your set up - and had the same breaker issues as you - so I know how you feel. Happy gardening.
Kiki +rep.

Hey Streets, I'm back lol.

1) Have you seen what the buds look like of other growers of the same strains so that you have something to compare them to?

2) My school of thought is that when you remove the lower branches you are not really going to end up with less weight because the plant will now have more energy to focus on the top half and will produce heavier and perhaps more solid nugs, but imo, strain is the most important factor in producing those types of buds that you are lookng for. Some strains and especially some phenotypes will produce fluffier buds no matter what. It sounds like you have plenty of lumens, no problem there.

3) This is the hard part,,,realize that even though the plants look beautiful, starting during the first few weeks of 12/12, all of the bottom branches need to come off. You can take a couple of the nodes off during veg but the majority should come off during flower. Towards the end of the first week take the bottom third off and at the end of the second week or during the third take some more off so that there are no branches on the bottom HALF.

One way to look at it is that the branches on the plants below where most of your weight is going to be, have not even started growing yet, that's the flowering stretch lol and only the top qtr of the branches that you see below are the ones that you'll want to have kept :)

Did that make sense Streets, I'm quite high lol, but I'll talk to you later!

thank you very much for the advice, so after the third week i will have cut off 1/2 the bottom of the plant off at the node, or just trim the branches.

i will post some pics soon when i put them into flowering next week... i planned on picking up 6 xxl hps lights last week, but the shipment was late... this week its late again.. its not in till next tues... so my cycle will be 2 weeks off track.. which isnt a big deal.. im going to sea of green one 600 watt light in a week, using 14 plants fimmed that were vegged for 2 weeks, i want to experiment and see which yields more per watt trees or sog. ill be using 2 different strains, white skunk and big bang.

pictures are of purple wreck 3 weeks cured
