Ya, I hope to learn from the Pro Mix/ Pearlite set up and then take it up a notch to Hydro after that. My buddy does very very well with ProMix/ Pearlite 50/50

Beautiful man. Stick with the hydro, seriously its not rocket science and your already all set up. You already know what you need to change for your next run, clean like a son of a bitch and fire her back up!!

I do a top feed as well with rockwool cubes in lava rock. I have two 1/4" feed lines into every 5gal bucket, For the first 2 weeks AT LEAST I leave my two feed line right to the OUTSIDE edge of the bucket. As far away from that damn cube as possible. However, twice a day I go into the room take the feed lines and manually moisten the rocks surrounding the cube, leaving about a 1.5" area around the cube untouched and dry. If I notice my cube totally dried up and the plant looks like it could use water I might slightly moisten the cube, but I want my roots "searching" for water and leaving that cube ASAP.

Anyway good luck.

Lowes/HD has a seed starter kit with dome that would be ideal for 50/50. Each cup is small and has a hole in the bottom to drain. Once the seeds are rooted you can put some in your hydro and some in 50/50 mix. I would not use 50/50 for more than a top ~ 4" capping river rock/ornamental rock/lava rock. Of course you have a ton of hydroton, so you can use it.
