hydro seems like its not worth the effort.

beendoing ebb and flow on a 4x4 table for flower and a 3x3 for veg just added another 4x4 to thesetup so i will have a 50gal res for one 4x4 a 25gal res for veg and another 25gal res for the other 4x4 wich is really two 2x4 tables in a 4x4 tent. that is a lot of water to mess with. i hear hydro is supposed to have such better yield and thats about all.anyone know how much more you should get givin that everything is exactly the same. using co2 as well, i heard likr a third more with hydro. thanks

just go pure coco fibers .. then you can also use up what ever hydro nuts you have left ..

PH is the same and end result is cloe to hydro .. with out haveing a 50 gallon res and pumps aso. coco can even be reused a few times ...

Hydro is definitely more productive as far as yield but a good organic soil mix produces more aromatic tastier buds .......I do both.....each method has it's pros and cons but at the end of the day I am rolling my sweet sweet soil nugs..........

Yo fuck ebb n flood your floor system lol. I use rockwool top feed to a 8 gal cement mxing tub from lowes cost $6.97 + tax here's some pics

And here's a recent pic of the 16 gal cement mixing pans top feed drip no tent tho

I've used the ebb n grow and all it did was flood my floors when the controller had an issue(float sensor gets stuck).

Am soil all the way, hydro was fast to remove itself from my list of desires. Soil is a good buffer, hydro rewards and punishes on a knifes edge. But then simple uncomplicated natural growing is how I roll.

I think hydro is a solution for large indoor grows with loads of plants, then it's easier to manage, but for my dozen plants or so, na.

Mate I just swapped from soil to hydro and I will never ever go back lol so much cleaner, and it is quite easy to maintain

If it works for you that's cool, can only speak from my own perspective. Maybe in the future I'd consider it but I think a lot of people jump onto the deep end and struggle to swim etc. Guess stick to what works for you and what you're comfortable with. Hell, it's all about the bud at the end of the day, gotta walk our own way through that garden.

Whatever way you grow, if you have good smoke at the end then it's all good.

I'm setting up a moderate DWC hydro system all built by me with trips to Wally World and Freddy's. Built 5 so far. 1 5-gallon bucket single net pot with dual 9" airstones and a Millionaire pump on high. Works like a charm and was the test for a little larger. Just finishing the 4th 22-gallon tub for DWC with 6 4" net pots each, with 2 14" airstones in each, each run by a Millionaire. The pumps cost the most at $25.00. Tubs are running $7.45 yesterday at Wally and 14" airstones were $4.95 each. Easy to build and the 14" airstones really put up a curtain of bubbles. The 5-gallon grew a huge SSH yielding over 9 ounces dried (thought it might be bigger) but the girl had an issue with light hours so she went 12/12 when the plant (from seed) was just 5 weeks old. Had she waited a few more weeks at least she would have scored much bigger.

I still grow MINE in soil. Lifelong habit, love the feel of the dirt, the smell, the hassles. The bud is superior in dirt regardless of plant nearly every time.

soil can yield just aswell in my opinion just longer veg. i just prefer hydro because im scientifically minded and i like to be in complete control of everything. i like to be able to check my ph at any given moment and see what its doing etc. not saying soil is bad simply personal preferance. if we wanted to get into an argument over which is better it would go round in circles all day because it simply comes down to personal preferance

About 12 years ago I did my first and (@ time) only grow.I think the only 2 reasons they lived past the peat pellet stage was I kept them warm, non saturated, and the bagsead had some vigor.Planted outside, the soil brought the plants too harvest.Though little direct sun due to stealth,my knowledge limited to peat pellet/Liquid Miracle gro labels, the rich soil buffered my noobness. The harvest was just as good as the source smoke.

11 years later I did a diy dwc with more knowledge, and more gained as I went along.Once dialed in the dwc was still a pain in the bawlz .No tds meter, and just ph drops, the nothing to write home about genetics produced for me.

6 mo's later, better genetics, and forever in my garden is the passive hydro a la Hempy. My favorite traditional medium of choice is Hydroton. All things considered (proper enviroment/your fave complete hydro nutes, etc.),the important thing for me with Hempy is keeping the taproot moist and aerated till roots hit the res.Hempy original medium Perlite works, but I prefer Rockwool starter cubes for seed starting directly into Hydroton Hempy.Rooted clones go directly into Hempy cups with feeder roots resting on top of res.Once roots fill in it is a piece of cake to tilt to drain, pop out plant/root ball and place on top of res (bigger container with medium filled to bottom of hole) then fill around to support plant.Imho a Hempy will out yield soil, with both using the same size container.

I urge anyone interested in hydro simplified to Google:Hempy collective,Hempy for dummies,The official Hempy bucket thread.
Imho opinion Co Co Coir just complicates what the system all ready provides, and that is an aerated rootzone with a readily available source of H2O and nutrients.

Fellow Hempy Heads (except Co Co Heads) will concur.

i have grown outdoors in soil since i was 16 im now 29 so yeah i know what your talking about. that doesnt change the fact i still prefer hydro indoors. and to be honest the flavour and taste isnt even that different.
i grow under a cmh bulb so full spectrum more like the sun than a hps etc and use mostly organic nutes at very low e.c and honestly its not that big of a difference. but yes sir you are correct organic soil grows are better for flavour but IMO if your that worried about flavour go grow outdoors dont even waste your time indoors because outdoor organic is unbeatable.

my two cents is hydro is ok when every thing is working but when you run in to problems soil is much more forgiven see what one lives if you have a power outage things happen
