Hydroponic newbie help

thanks bsi for tht link, but i dont understand any of it lol. i just wanted to keep my shit simple and i thought this was gonna be simple. i have to rez's and i thought u just mix one rez with ur nutes and use a water pump to pump the nutes into ur rez with the plants for a certain peroid of time and make sure the ph is good? am i wrong, is there way more to it

marijuana is a weed so you can plant it in the dirt and watch it grow. BUT if you want some good quality bud you're going to have to put in a lot of time and effort to see that happen. and while i find i enjoy hydro, i believe it is arguably more difficult than a soil grow.

like most things in life, you get out of it what you put into it.
 
alright, do i really need to go buy all this peroxide and all these nutes and mix them in all at once. i just dont understand. id stick to soil now, but its 2 late i already built my rez.
 
ok so i use me second rez to mix my nutes, and should i use a water pump to pump the nutes into my plant rez like every 30 mins for so many hours?
 
Its not too late. Hardly any cost to start a soil grow. Just dirt, water, container, space, light and nutes. You can find way more nutrients alot cheaper and more readli available for soil grows.

Start with soil....Its alot easier to transition to hydro than to start with it. See my sig pic? I started in dirt and learned hydro later. Even though I already built my DWC and was ready to jump in too.

Then again...maybe you're willing to take losses just to get a hydro grow done.
 
im already doing soil right now, but i orderd a hps/MH light just for this hydro setup. im going to my hydro shop tommorow and pickin up the nutes, but im not going to start the hydro yet until i get everything i need. what nutes should i get first? and after you guys help me out im pretty sure will get it and be able to do it myself and help others
also after i learn all this shit then i can test my own nutes and already know how to work the shit :D
 
Then talk to your hydro store guy. He can explain everything about using your system/nutes. Take a pen/pad and bring home notes.

He may even demonstrate. Thats alot easier to grasp than 1000 people with differing systems giving you their take. Forums are fine. But not the only or best source for your info.
 
alright, but i think you guys are way way way more experienced then the guy at my hydro store, he dont grow canabis, he grows the fruit shit lol
 
He should know the systems/nutes....Or not be in business.

Once you get that. You can ask questions about fine tuning things for what we grow.

probably harder to grow fruit that it is to grow weed. but he'll at least know how to work the system you buy and explain nutrients. and then after you get going and have any specific questions not answered in the FAQs - we'll be here to help.

alright well got to wait till 2moro, idont think the dude likes me up there. i was in there 3 days in a row just loitering asking him a bunch of questions on all his product and shit, spend like 2hours in there lol and only bought a ph kit for 15 dollars. he was trying to sell me HPS setup for $375 dollars, which is 400 wats with full sprectrum bulb and relfector and ballast, but no MH bulb, tryed to take me as an idiot, but ill c 2moro.
 
no can answer that simple question? would the second resevoiur make it easier for the setup, or something?
 
A second res would help when changing the nutrient solution. You can mix your new batch in the empty and transfer plants to new res immediately.
 
thats exactly what i was thinking! but.......wat about water temp or shock?
and also i think ima build an aeroponic system, just because i have alot of time and i want to work on something to keep my occupied.

already went and picked up some supplies. i bought a 10ft pvc pipe and i have a saturn and i couldnt fit the damn thing in my car. so had 5ft of it hanging out my window lol
also if someone never used nutes in a hydro system, would the plants die or not even grow? just a stupid question i was wondering.

go to your local hydroponics store and pick up the book 'how to hydroponics' fourth edition it gives you step by step build it yourself for all hydroponic systems..
