I couldn't wait... In the oven with my wite widow. Have you tried it?

So my buddy and i are growing WW and AK47 and we couldn't what for the harvest to be ready in 1-2 weeks so we took a taste sample from one small flower from WW and chopped it up real small and then we put it in the oven on 75 C for 20 minutes.

Now it was dry but not super dry and we took a pipe and got 3 pipes full... and all I can say we both got really fucking stoned, i don't know if it was placebo or what it was because from what i understand doing the drying in the oven really cut down on the quality and specially when we got 1-2 weeks to go. But hey dont get me wrong it was FULL of crystals and some of the hairs was brown but not all of them.


Now this is my first time doing this one and i didn't read anything about it before hand.. Have anybody else tried this oven solution and what was your result??

Really, you nor your buddy could not wait 1 -2 weeks, not only are you breaking the cardinal rule in cannabis cultivation but there are two of you who show no patience. patience is a virtue.

Haha yeah so we did, we are swedes.. we just don't care So on the topic.. have anybody done the oven solution and what was your result?

Yes, mediocre at best, but better than shit you buy off the street.

So what a can expect from the harvest is mind blowing result comparing with the stuff you buy on the street? Im a noob and this is my first grow.. but what i mean is will the THC levels and the right drying method make a HUGE differences or will it make a small differences in 2 weeks from now when the all hairs have come to brown color and the flowers have swollen?

The oven is a nono id say my swedish friends. You not the only grower who has felt anxious watching the sexiness ripening. I was told anything above say 110 degrees f is a destroyer of cannabis.

haha yeeeaah i got that feeling when i was in the middle of it.. it felt wrong but patience for me doesn't exist What so low degrees? well then that was good news thats just mean that when santa clause comes i'm going to be so fucked up!! haha marry X-mas!

Seeing as I decarb my weed at over 200F, and it still sends people on spirit quests in my edibles, I'm going to say you may have been misinformed. I've quick dried in my oven more than once. It kills flavor, but you'll get an idea of how your bud will effect you. I've speed dried several harvests in my microwave and my oven, all of it got me high. To be fair, it really doesn't beat a good cure though.

Back in the day when I was about 14, my dad was growing some weed indoors in the house that we lived in. I got the bright idea to steal some weed from him, so I broke some branches off of his plants. He never even noticed. Lol! Anyways I had only just started smoking a couple months earlier, so I had no idea what I was doing. My friends and I just wanted to smoke, so we put a shoe box full of weed in the oven. Needless to say we burnt that shit to a crisp. It was horrible. I guess that is what you get for stealing. Anyways I have never used an oven since. Now I have used the microwave recently, and I have to admit it fucking sucks. The weed ends up tasting so green and like shit. It will get you high though. Best thing to do is just to let it dry out naturally. At least then you will get a somewhat accurate preview of what your bud will be like.

Heat does degrade thc, as to what temperature does I am not sure...

simply put your end batch if dried and cured DECENTLY will be a lot better in terms of smoke and flavor, than what you did in the oven.

Try this next time you need to quick dry some MJ.

Get a tupperware container put a folded sheet of DRY paper towel in the bottom, use scissors to CUT not GRIND the weed in to smaller pieces like the size of a frozen pea. take another DRY piece of paper towel and put it over top of the pea sized weed pieces Then take a damp not WET paper towel and put it over the TOP and put the lid on and pop up one corner and toss it in the microwave for about 20-30 secs at a time AT OR LESS THAN 30% power its very important to have the lower powerl level on the microwave or it will just burn them to a crisp.

Ive found the above method to be the best gauge of how the end product will be like (minus the green taste).

Hope this helps. Also it does degrade quality but not as much as you would think.

what i do is a dry/curing method that takes a month to do and i complete that method in three days in an oven. I have done this way several different ways. don't care to go to much into detail but if you are interested let me know. The finish product will still knock you on your ass.. THE #1 Rule about this method is that the oven is a mean bitch and care not a damn about whats in it. Zero forgiveness so keep a close sober eye open. Okay 1st cut your plant or your branch,trim or not it doesn't seem to matter much to mine.turn the oven on the lowest setting usually warm or 200 degrees i like it right around 100. hang for several hours (2.5 for me) until the outside is slightly crunchy then you set them out let them cool down. Next jar them up and burp normally for a 24hr period. Then once the buds have kinda softened up turn the oven back on the lowest settings and re hang plant.(CAUTION: This is a very easy part to fuck up because this the buds second dry so its gonna dry fast) for about thirty min. or until crispy as in sugar leaves do break but not the bud. you lose alot of weight tho. i started out with a 11g nug n by the time it was all said and done the dude only weighted 3g. Smoke Report it will be surprisingly smooth if done right. three hits in you notice the floor smacking your ass in the face. I have not found out my experiments that it degrades the THC. I still makes you fuckered up. If this makes no sense let me know as i am kinda HIGH of my oven batch. Keep cookin with you heart

Yep, works for me too. Not perfect but a good way of testing. My microwave takes 3.5 mins at 50% power but it will vary

nothin better than cracking jars and smelling the difference every day

I personally have found that 30% power keeps more of the trichomes from bursting and makes it a bit more pleasureable to smoke.

I will be damned if I go through all the effort to grow killer bud and piss it off in the oven because you can't wait. Go buy a sack and treat the grow properly and it is a win win from there....jmo

if i must i chop up a small bud spread it out on my metal tray and put it on top of the fridge(set in an alcove traps the heat) for awail usually dry enough to burn in 6 hours or so

I steal a little nug from the bottom sometimes just for science. Leave it on the PVR for 5-6 hours and it's ready to go. Won't smoke great but should be at 80% of it's potential.
