i sold some grape ape in high school for awhile, my guy would run to cali, and this weed wasnt even green, just purple with orange hairs, completely nuts

Yea they are looking really really nice, I like the indica pheno you got going there, nice purple stem with dark green foliage. 
I think I found out my problem though, my runoff pH was around 5.5 so I think I'll give these suckers a nice flushing and re-pot.

grape ape is similar strain to purple urkel and gdp mostly a pure indica you crossed to hindu k which is also a mostly pure indica. should be a good indica cross with hygrid vigor!

hybrid vigor i guess you cross 2 genetically different strains and the resulting seeds have more strength than either parent individually. as most strains are a bit inbred to get the desired traits. you refresh them by crossing i love breeding cannabis you never know exactly what you will get.

how long did it take in 12/12 for them to show their sex?

but your Kushes are looking perfect. You should veg them until they are 28 inches tall, you'll get a qp per plant minimum!
