I'm not arguing that. If I were in charge most of our bases in the middle east would be converted to something actually useful to the local population, then I'd make a presidential address personally apologizing for the past presidents' actions. So in the future we would no longer mess in their affairs, and would therefore appreciate they don't attack us in the future in return.
