fuuuuuuuuuck. My boss is sending me on the road for almost 2 weeks straight. How am I going to take care of my fucking plants?!?! This whole job thing is really cutting into my grow operation.

Ideally a family member you're close to, second best choice would probably be a good friend. You're pretty much stuck with the options of breaking one of the golden rules, losing your plants, or losing your job. Shitty situation.

I can have my roommate do it, but I don't really want to leave that responsibility up to him. If he forgets to water one day I could end up fucked. But what I hate most is that a harvest might fall in those 2 weeks, so he will have to use judgment on when to harvest, and then use more judgment on how to proceed from there. I only trust myself for that stuff, but I guess I have no choice.

Harvest some early and the the rest when you get back. Turning your harvest over to someone else who doesn't have the same interest as you isn't really a good idea.

You could just ask your boss how frequently he smokes (everyone does) and offer him some bud in exchange for delaying your trip.

Neither is harvesting unripe/overripe bud.

I have a perpetual harvest. Every 2-3 weeks I should have several plants ready to harvest.

Hopefully the harvest happens right before the trip. That's what i'm planning on, but sometimes these girls have a mind of their own and decide not to follow my calendar.

I raised my lights about 18 inches, put seran wrap on the tops of my 5 gallon pots to stop evaporation, and it got my plants through another 5 days with out watering, 10 days total. They were thirsty but did just fine. Although they were 2 weeks transplanted, and not flowering. Just a thought.:leaf:

lol agreed stoned pony. dont think the lawsuit will work out, though haha. "but judge...... my boss wouldn't give me time to harvest and/or smoke my medicine."
In all honesty though, why not just have your roommate water (and only water since you should be flushing anyways. just tell him to look at the damn soil and show him in gallon jug form how much to use. why would he need to harvest? if you have a perpetual grow, i would think it would be alright for one round to be a little couch-locky.
my final thought is that this prob wont be the last time this happens with your new job, you might not like it but you really might have to choose one or the other (remember all the weed youll be buying with your nice new jobs income if you go that route)

ps i cant find it now but there was a grow on here somewhere, in which the person set up his timers and hydro and started 12/12 from seed. he left for 8 weeks without anyone to check on his babys. he comes home and has some grade A killer shit. oh he also rigged up somethin for a perfect 6 weeks of nutes. anyways it was pretty fucking cool. so maybe if you can find that grow and take notes you can have another option with this job

Because I have plants at all stages of development. I will need to harvest some plants, feed others in mid flower, feed others in early flower, feed the veg tent, transplant small girls into larger pots, plant the rooted clones, and take more clones.

Why would he need to harvest? Because I may be gone for 14 days straight. If it's not ready to harvest until a day or two after I leave I don't want them sitting that long degrading.

This isn't a new job, i've been here for almost 5 years. This is the first time I will be leaving for this amount of time. Usually it's for a few days at a time, maybe a whole 5 day week. The last year or two as we've expanded my role has grown to be much more office oriented.

I would ideally like to tell my boss I don't want any road gigs anymore, only office stuff. And only work 4 days a week. And only like 6 hours a day. I could handle 10-4 Monday-Thursday. My life would be much less stressful if I could cut my work load like that and just supplement my income from growing.

If your in washington state i'll do it. I know my shit. When you get back you'll have some nicely drying buds and some sexy ladies. Just leave me their feeding schedules and your preferences on manicuring and a few things...toss me a zip when you get back and im golden.

In these tough economic times, the only thing you really can do is quit your job. Blame it on the traveling for work. You can always claim a sick mom or an expecting sister, and when they say no, we need you to go, you can quit AND file for unemployment. You can claim traveling was never a condition of your job (if it wasn't) and that you are unable to do so. Rather than have a firing on your record, you quit.

Now you have time to do what really matters, grow weed. If you are harvesting every 2-3 weeks, you have time and more time invested and your operation can't afford a monkey wrench in it everytime your employer decides they want you gone. hmmm.... Anyone at the office know a harvest is close? conspiracy theorists?

I have a pretty decent gig at my job actually. It's almost all smokers. I used to buy from my boss, now I sell to him. It's also really close to my house (less than a mile).

This is the first time I will be gone for such a long time, and I think it's a one time deal to train me on new equipment. I will have to go in the field in the future, but they should be for shorter stints.

Yes one guy in my office is a patient of mine so he knows about the grow, and I keep him informed of the trials and tribulations with the garden.

Well I think it's gonna work out. Talk to your boss. See what he can do for you...that way you can plan for a 2 week absence....you've got a GREAT job if almost everyone smokes...keep that shit....you can grow a million more plants...a good relaxed job is HARD AS FUCK TO FIND.
