I need advice! 14 plants dead

I have rocks in the bottom of the cups yes, maybe 1" worth of rocks. I will transplant these guys into larger containers when I get home which is just a soil and perlite mix. Now your telling me to run about 65 degreeS? I thought seedlings enjoyed 70-80? least thats what I have been reading? When should I move the lights closer? They don't seem to be stretching by all means. Can you tell me as to why I cannot use distilled water for my seedlings as that is what I have been using since day 1? lol

maybe you should start with a tomato plant and stop killing the babies lol.. just start over and do the exact opposite of what your doing now..

Thanks for taking the time to say your comment. I just posted pictured of 3 living plants however I guess that doesn't negate the fact that I screwed up early on. I appreciate the wisdom you shared, also I want to take the time to thank you for all the wonderful things you have shown me. But let me just perfectly clear, you want me to stop what I am doing, ok so ill kill the seedlings. Then start over, ok so Ill do that. Now I have to do everything opposite? Your a waste of air

There are over 1/2 million members and a certain percentage are going to be assholes. I personally wouldn't worry about the rocks or your temps. And generally there's no need to transplant unless bad media (like you experienced) or rootbound which won't happen for weeks.

Agree with JohnDee, just do not over water, they looked just right in your last pics, for future ref though never plant more than 1 seedling in the same pot, if they both take off you will not be able to separate them and they will compete for the space, light and nutrients.

Personally, I'd let them get three times that size before transplant. If you wait awhile, then the rootmass will hold everything together making it easy. And they won't risk being rootbound for a long time.

If you transplant now, the soil will probably crumble and risk root damage.

2 of the plants seem to be going very slow while this monster is just on a frenzy… Big one is 3 weeks now, when should I start with nutes? Here is the soil I have used with the nutes in it…

THIS IS EXACTLY what my problem is......
How long do you think the re growth on roots would take to catch back up?

I would not transplant until the foliage is two times bigger then the pots. This ensures you have a nice healthy root mass. Have patience my friend. You got them his far, don't go messing with them now.

Regarding nutes...most likely those are timed release (like MG) and you should be good for months. Read the label on the bag.

I can't believe you transpanted your sick seedlings into soil with adult level nutrients added. You haven't recognized that the seedlings are very sensitive yet? Sheesh, what's it going to take? This is probably the reason you only were able to save 4 of them. If you had gone into a milder soil...you may have saved them all.

some serious advice. get some grow block . or some rotor rooter . plant it ito the grow block and never add fertilizer until its 4 inches tall 1/4 strength until its 6 inches tall 1/2 then 12 inches tall full strength. you might be having rooting issues in what your using. time to get some thing made for your seeds.

for got to mention keep your temps under 75f so 60 to 75 f. they will make roots. any hotter they don't like to make roots and you will have a lot of problems they dye. this includes heat from the light . this is after the seeds hatch you need to reduce your temp.

JohnDee, I was told by someone that this bag of soil was the absolute best an after some reading on the internet I seen he was terribly wrong. I will lower the temps a little bit. So you figure for nutes I will be good for all of vegging? I have the fox farm trio nutes if that makes a difference

There are a couple issues with nute added soil. Oh, first this is a statement that I copied from a Schulz ad for the soil you are using.

The more you water...the more is released into soil. So DO NOT FLUSH ever in this soil unless you want nute burn.

It's suitable for adult plants but not seedlings. There is a very good reason that seed starter mix is made and marketed.

I'm sorry that you got bad advice on the soil. You have a computer, so use Google and do your own research. I actually find that there is better advice regarding generic growing issues on non-ganja sites.

Watch your plants and learn from them. Don't feed until they look hungry. Yellowing lower leaves. Don't get impatient and feed them because of slow growth. Adding nutrients to a nute added soil is a recipe for problems.

There were a total of 16, last night I took an eye dropper and gave all of them some water. I woke up this morning and checked on them and there was one that was completely folded in half, i tried lifting him up so i can brace his stem but it just broke off. (Here we go again). I got some pics here because I am hoping you guys can let me know if these seedlings look okay. It is now day 5 or 6, I actually cannot remember. Their first watering was last night, and yes instead of saturating the coco I just use a dropper. All criticisim will help! Please guys, let me know if this looks right. Thanks!!

seedlings look ok bro they're just growing in the wrong direction

John, in your opinion is it in my best interest to transplant all the seedlings into a better soil? Or should I leave as is? Danny boy, which way should they be growing? I thought they looked right?

Because they have been through so much, I wouldn't suggest trying to clean the roots off the old soil...but gently transplanting them into a slightly larger container with some mild soil around may help. For future reference, with such long lasting time-release nutrients...you couldn't even alter nute profile for flowering...so use the Schultz for some houseplants.

I believe Danny was exercising his dry wit and implying that your plants were getting smaller over time, rather then larger, like they're supposed to do.
