That's true, but that only accounts for a marginal increase in potency and yield, and to minimize risk of crop loss (from pests, ect). The first thing that came to mind when I read your OP was "He sounds like he can grow - must be genetics." Once you know how to get a plant to grow, and keep it alive, the number one most important variable is genetics - by a country mile. As long as you harvest at the right time, it's seriously hard to fuck up a good strain.

Another thought - pheno hunting WILL get you serious increases in potency.

Just my 2 cents.

All true, all true. Curing has a minimal effect on potency, though. Drying too fast makes the weed harsh in the throat. I thought the OP was talking about that expanding feeling you sometimes get after you get it down.

Fractured had it right with his 'holy grail' comment.

just because they come from there, doesn't mean nothing. You need to find top BREEDERS and then you will get seeds that are regular or feminized, either way, both will have different phenos. ( like twins that aren't identical) you have to grow lots of seeds to find a WINNER. Everyone is looking for that "holy grail" plant. when you find it, you clone it over and over to keep it.

No. In fact as somebody who's been smoking, growing and chucking the real skunk#1, real nl5 and a few other imho now lost strains back in the last century I know it's not the same weed, not even close, or at least I haven't found it yet and I've grown six or eight different skunks from all different breeders looking for it before I gave up.

It could be curing or could be genetics too. So many factors go into growing great weed. I use mason jars to cure and it wont get smoked for at least a month after harvest. The jars are kept in a dark cool cabinet. Burped when necessary. How long after you cut it down are you smoking it?
The main thing is you are improving. Your weed can only get stronger and better tasting.

I've smoked some right away, some after a week, and some after a month. The longer cure does help but i think i just need to find that hidden jem.

Make sure you flush properly at the end of the grow as well to help get all the salts and other junk out of your plants buds... Its crucial to flush or any amount of curing is going to give you shitty tasting chem buds.

exactly, flushing is an OPINION. if it did what people thought. EVERYONE would do it and know it worked. just like certain nutes and light spectrums,c02 or any other things that actually work in growing. Flushing is only done by stoners who don't understand how plants work.
