Some of the PC stuff I've bought is literally just brought over and rebranded, it might be identical or it could be a knockoff. I wanted to cover a 4x4 area so I got 2 x sf2000, buds are looking frosty under em.

It is pricey. You could probably save a few bucks by assembling it yourself.
Main reason i went with diy.

I'm in a pretty similar situation as the op. I'm looking to buy a high quality led flowering-only rig and I'm just not a gearhead in general. I'm trying to cover 10-12 ft2 and I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a Timber 4VS with 3000K. I'm not commercial...just a hobbyist who wants to screw around with seeds and many small plants. My priority is a good light that I'm not going to need to upgrade for several years. I'm open to being talked out of this. Anybody?
I'm also wondering if it would make sense to buy two 2VL units for future flexibility... looks like only twenty bucks more vs. one 4VS.

What r the Cree cobs like, looking at a cheap $100 one on ebay puts out 120 watts, made in china =( how r they on heat?

Cant help you there. My light is an 4 cob actively cooled cree cmt fixture. Added another single luminus horti cob since.
Dimmable from near 0 to around 600w.
Kinda a Frankenstein. It makes heat....

Where do you think most of the components used for LED light's come from. Even Samsung outsources to China. Cree has a huge facility in Huizhou China. You're not going to get away from Chinese made parts no matter what brand of LED light you purchase.

Yeah there is a big difference between the kit versions and the pre built in price. One comes with 1 year warranty and the other comes with 3 year.
I always thought they are pricing themselves out with the pre builts.
Depends what they are, they use cree in a lot of lights because the name sells lights, but most are not cxb3590s.
Plus you gota be careful since they like to say the maximum capability of the COB but could be running them way less.

So like 3x4ft space or something like? That Timber will do great. Maybe go for 3500k if you plan on vegging and flowering with the same light.
Other lights may well come out and be more efficient in years to come, but it wont change the performance of that fixture, it will crack on for years.

I would not by anything with only one rating. The Phlizon makes good ones and has good customer service.

Yeah... I need a new tent too. I was thinking of a 4 x 4 but not necessarily packing it to the gills unless sizes go out of control. Just for flowering. Thanks for the response... that's what I hoped to hear.

That's like 52 English coins. Someone could build a lot better but probably not for that price.
I might prefer to try some strips from cutter.au and spend a few dollars more if I were supplementing a single light source.
Thinking like 4 strips @15AUD a piece and $65-75 for a meanwell 120h-48 driver (or even a 185h-48 for 200w)
(sorry, I know you didn't ask for DIY advice, force of habit)
If its just supplementing an existing multi light source I would give that linked light a go for the price.
