That may be true. But I am now reading that HID has better penetration.1000 watts hid is enough for a 5x5. 600 watts for a 4x4. You have plenty of light already with what you have.

Why not go with 2 600w HPS/MH with cooling hoods? It would be tough to get good coverage in a 2x4 tent with it, and it is twice as much light/heat as you need. Talk to @nfhiggs about a custom led strip light. 300 watts of good Samsung strips would do amazing.

If one 600 is 2x too much light, then two 600's will be 4x too much light, in theory.2x4x6
Ok how about 2 400w HID with cooling hoods? I want to cover both of my plants that are in RDWC tubs.If one 600 is 2x too much light, then 2 600's will be more light than that.
What's wrong with running what you have now?Ok how about 2 400w HID with cooling hoods? I want to cover both of my plants that are in RDWC tubs.
I am assuming by what I am reading that I would get better quality with MH/HPSWhat's wrong with running what you have now?

It's none of my business, but I'd recommend running what you have now to see what it will do, since you already have it going. Then if you aren't happy get something better. You are talking about a huge jump in heat that you probably aren't ready to handle right now.I am assuming by what I am reading that I would get better quality with MH/HPS
I have the option to exchange these 2 "1200w" LED's for 2 400w HPS/MH with cooling hoods and digital ballasts. Pull the trigger?I see
I have a squirrel cage with carbon filter. My tent Temperature right now with the lights on after 8 hours is at 72F. I can safely assume when i go to HPS/MH with cooling hood, i should maybe see a 5F-7F increase if i hook up the cooling lines thru the hoods while im drawing air from the room which is current at 65F.It's none of my business, but I'd recommend running what you have now to see what it will do, since you already have it going. You are potentially opening up a can of worms. Where is the air coming from and going to? The lights can act as a room heater, heating up the room to where it is heating up your intake temp as well, then no cooling.I have a squirrel cage with carbon filter. Air Conditioner. Fall/Winter temps are coming, so I will not be needing much of the AC in the coming months. You are potentially opening up a can of worms. Where is the air coming from and going to? I'd get the 400's or get your money back and go with something else. 2 vented 400's would be pretty killer in there. Overkill, but you have 6 feet. 100watts per sqft, everyone wishes they could run that.Air Conditioner. Fall/Winter temps are coming, so I will not be needing much of the AC in the coming months.
Well I will order the new lights now so at least the babies will keep growing, them when the HID's get in here, Ill swap them out and send them back for a refundI'd get the 400's or get your money back and go with something else. 2 vented 400's would be pretty killer in there. Hate to burst your bubble but it's just a bullshit sales pitch. They will grow bud but be on par of hid or t5. Cobs or strips are more effecient.Wattage draw does not equal the same as HID lights. LED emits light in a different and more efficient way. You’re trying to say my 1200w LED is on par with a 250w HPS/MH. That is far from the truth. And regardless, it’s about spectrum, not just power draw. Like I said, I’ll be saving more money in the long run. I’m not trying to compete with anyone in terms of getting massive weight yields. Me and you are on totally different ideas here.
I am exchaning my LED's for 2 x 400W MH/HPS with vented/cool tube hoods. I already have a 6 inch squirrel cage with carbon filter and my room temp is 65F-70F all day everyday.Hate to burst your bubble but it's just a bullshit sales pitch. 3-4 zips each, two plant scrog with those lights in a 2x4 is doable. You could do the same with 400 watt hid or 432 watts of t5.
I run 200 watts of cob in a 2x4x6 cab.
Watch those lights. It will get hot in there. They run about as hot as hid or t5.
It comes down to the grower. I believe with solid grow skills and the right strains you could pull 10 zips with that setup.
I would seriously consider returning those lights and look into diy cob. Around 250 watts of cob would do the same as the two lights you have.
