Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

I applied online Nov 13th.
CC charged the same day.
I've been watching you. I know you're a week before me.
From what I’ve gathered, we are either waiting for a letter (if the card printer is still having issues), or the physical card. I’m hoping we get a letter because those have been mailed from IL and the cards are mailed from the east I believe....

Guys that have been waiting and applied before 12/1 go to https://medicalcannabispatients.illinois.gov/Account/AcctMatching.aspx and create an account. Some of you may be able to get the provisional letter right now.
I was approved 1/28 (mail in app received 10/27) and did my best to get a provisional letter online today. Called 100 times before getting though and was told only those after 12/1 will get the provisonal letter as that is the law. I argued for a while with them and they said there was no way to do it I’m sorry to say.
On plus I got my letter to use in the mail because of them not printing yet. Of course it was the only piece not to show up in informed delivery. Would have saved a lot of time redialing if it did show and some frustration. Just dropped 300 at my first dispensary trip and happier now

Ok I want some clarification on what the provisional access is. Is this only for opioids patients ? Is it for people who’ve applied online ? The medical cannibis patience that applied by mail, or online, do those people have to wait the full 90+ days?
I want to know who is getting access sooner and who has to wait.

I applied by mail, they received my application November 19th.
Hate to say it but from my conversations with idph your going to have to wait. 12/1 is as far back as they were going and only online it sounded like. Thanks to their printer problems only they once your check clears it will move pretty quick and you’ll get the mailed letter like I. Hopefully they get to you soon.

In defense of IL's system, the law was very clearly written to say ONLINE MCPP applicants got provisional. Everyone was saying ONLINE applicants, stop applying by mail. People continued applying by mail and then setting out to learn about it all.
People who were applying by mail after 8/28 only have themselves to blame. Read the laws before you sign up for them. And I do mean the law, not blogs about the laws unless those blogs are from lawyers.

Not in defense of IL's system. IDPH should've been open with how it was going to work from 8/28. Instead they outright lied to people constantly and about everything. If the truth means nobody was going to apply until their Dr certification was about to run out and they'd get swamped with 12/1 applications, so be it. They shouldn't be taking 90 days to issue a card, that's their own fault. Once they knew it would backdate to 12-1 they should've said that in big red letters on their websites.

The way I see it IDPH was screwing people over to save themselves from being swamped because of their own in-compassionate ways of issuing cards so they could be sure they'd always have at least 3 months worth of cards to approve to avoid layoffs.
It sounds like IDPH is working to help post 12/1 applicants by mail. If you previously applied by mail after 12/1, apply online you'll get PA, and they're not supposed to cash your check when they see you are already in the system. (This is per Rep. Cassidy and what she worked out with IDPH.)
LOL, IL and your money, good luck with that. It might be worth a stop payment fee on that one.

Sorry if any of this was already posted but infusion day and I'm going down for another emergency nap. But on the bright side I got my super post infusion tolerance back so the last couple weeks of bad times with mmj was probably my low drug levels. I was ready to call it quits Wednesday and Thursday.

Direct from Disp. Website.
As of this morning, Illinois is now providing access to medical cannabis for any Illinois resident over 21 years of age who either has an opioid prescription or has any condition for which a physician might prescribe an opioid. The first step is to get your doctor to submit your certification online. After the doctor has submitted your certification you can apply online. All applications are ONLINE only. You will need this for your online form. Please note that you the dispensary you chose on your online form will be your dispensary for the 90 day period.

Your registration is good for 90 days. If you continue to qualify you can get a renewal and you can start that renewal process 30 days before expiration. Renewals require a doctor visit. Each 90 day registration requires a $10 fee to the state.

PROVISIONAL MEDICAL CARD

This is for patients with one of the 41 debilitating conditions, not for those who are applying under the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program.

If you applied online for medical cannabis after December 1st, you will be able to return to the online portal starting this Saturday, log in and then hit the Provisional Registration link to be given an immediate temporary card number. Then stop by A Dispensary with that printout and an Illinois driver's license or state ID and you'll be able to purchase medical cannabis.
If you are applying under the medical cannabis program after February 1st, once you've completed the application you'll be able to hit that Provisional Registration link to get a temporary card emailed to you in 24 hours. You must have a unique email address for use by you only.
Ready to get a card? Click here to get all the info you need. The provisional link is set to go live on February 1st, 2019

Is there anything the people who applied by mail can do ? Or their going to have to wait for their mail. Is there ANYTHING they can do?

Whatever. Why would sending it in by mail even be an option. I need a screenshot of where it says that online is “obviously” the better option because there are people that have applied online that haven’t gotten their cards neither.
And no one should MIND following the law, but the main problem is, for other patience and myself, is the 3-4 MONTH WAITING. That’s the major problem. Another issue that stings me, is that around the time I was getting ready to apply, they falsely advertise/say that it would be 30-60 to receive the card in the mail.

About the pre December 1st applications, no. That's the screwing from IDPH being secretive and lying.
Not IDPH employees but regular people telling everyone to not apply by mail any more, yes there are plenty of screen shots for that. Not obviously better until PA rolled out, which nobody knew when it would be or how it would apply, but if you had any hope of getting access faster yes online has been the obviously better option since the law was signed.

Actually many people who have applied online since Dec 1st have got access today while people who applied by mail on that same day are waiting.

You are somewhat correct that they should do away with mail options. Although I can see some people only being able to apply by mail (I don't know, Amish, maybe?).

I totally blame IDPH for their waiting period (and that is what it is). I even blame them for being secretive about how online applications will get provisional access. I really blame them for being secretive and giving a royal screwing to October and November applicants. I even blame them for the arbitrary Dec 1st backdating, the US Constitution says no ex post facto laws, the law was signed 8/28, their rule is the 12/1 date.

All I'm saying is for the people who applied by mail and are looking to blame someone else for that choice, it's been very clear for many months that provisional access was only for online applications. (Although there has been plenty of confusion being spread by IDPH and bloggers about that.)

Applied online 1.2.19 - got provisional access as of 1.31.19.

Took my first trip to the dispensary yesterday and nabbed some Sunny D, my very own Sojay haze cartridge, and an edible flight with a brownie pop, chocolate penny, and a caramel.

Pretty sure it was one of the most exciting shopping moments of my life, and I HATE shopping.

I didn't realize taxes were only 2.5% (windy city in homewood)!

It sucks that provisional access isn’t for anyone who applied before December 1, 2018 online...114 days and counting since I applied online...
