I'd love to continue this discussion, but honestly, posts like this just sound like conspiracy tales and anti-government bias. It's clear we don't see eye to eye, and discussing the actual laws doesn't seem popular here. Good luck with your crusade or whatever. :peace:

Actual laws are good to discuss. It's also good to discuss reality, and the reality is the vehicle code is set up so a cop can pull you over and make up a reason.
I'd say enjoy taking putting your faith in every cop you run into is a good cop but the license flag is being worked on being ended because it's not only abused in IL it shows up to other states who still have zero tolerance blood levels. This is yet another thing I'm amazed people sign up for mcpp without looking at the law first.

Former Chief in my town threatened to pull mcpp card holders over if medical was passed, then he was given the means to do just that with a nudge nudge wink wink in the law saying not to do that.

In case you haven't picked up on it, I have family in a PD. I do know what actually goes on and see both sides of the story.

I didn’t card today either....

Besides the call and official complaint filed with the Executive Office of the Inspector General last Friday, I carried on making official complaints today.

Today I’ve left a voice mail Assintant Director for Medical Cannabis/Medical Outreach Connie Moody concerning my complaints.

I also got through and was able to leave a complaint with a lady named Irma, in IDPH Director Dr. Shaw’s office.

Tomorrow I will call my local democratic Illinois Assembly member and file complaint with them.

Wednesday I plan to contact the governor’s office. I want these people working in the Illinois Medical Cannabis Program to be hit from every direction constantly and without let up. Shit always rolls downhill...

Just a comment on the notion of law vs. reality mentioned above.

I don't have any insider information from someone in law enforcement, but in my experience, you don't get pulled over or have to interact with the police unless you give them probable cause. If the law says they can't pull you over just for being registered with the MCPP, they're not going to do it. If you give them probable cause and DO get pulled over, maybe look up your info, see that you have a medical card, and use that information to help in the investigation. But if you don't give them probable cause, you're probably not going to get pulled over. That's the reality.

Yes, there are exceptions to every rule, and yes, there are bad cops who don't follow the rules. But the reality is, these exceptions are very rare.

Again, this is all based on my own experiences. But i'm old, and have lots of experience.

I understand and agree with the opposition to the principle that allows cops to see if you have an MCPP card. But the reality is that the vast majority cops have a lot of better things to do with their time than hassle otherwise law-abiding citizens by using a tiny loophole in the law that might allow them to do so, but won't hold up in court because the law specifically says that holding an MCPP card is not probable cause for anything.

Bottom line: if you don't want to be hassled by cops, don't give them probable cause.

If there is some data that shows that MCPP card holders are getting pulled over at a rate higher than non-card holders, I'll reevaluate my opinion. But until then, I believe this is a non-issue.

Disclaimer: I'm in Chicago, where the majority of Illinois' population and cops are located. If you're in a more rural, less populated area, and your experience is different, you have my sympathy. But that experience is not typical - it's an aberration.

I sent my app in on 11/27 but due to the wait I emailed and asked that my paper app be cancelled in lieu of my online app. I'm not sure how this will go over but does anyone know how long PA takes after applying online?

A November application would be the letter that the printers are down. Provisional is only going back to December 1st applicants.
Does anybody know when this will happen? Applied 12/8, online no email or anything about provisional, starting to lose hope...

Log into your online account. There may be a link there for Provisional Registration to print it out under Online Services. It looks like there's something there on my account and I'm long before December 1st (don't want to click on it since I know it can't apply to me).

I think the people I've seen getting it weren't waiting for an email.

That does seem to be where the problems are, or the claimed problems. As I said I'm skeptical of claims of innocence but I also know bad cops exist.
My stance is there is no reason for it to be in their computer. If you possess without the card you are breaking the law whether or not it's in their computer, it doesn't need to be there for the bad cops to abuse.

When i click the dropdown menu link for provisional access, it comes up with a screen saying “no items to show” or something like that, saying its empty and i have no provisional registration. I also called them, they said I should be getting an email and provisional, and that was over a week ago. They were very annoyed that I called and asked about it, but i guess just kill em with kindness. If im missing something here or doing something wrong someone please tell me haha
