And, I missed the closing parenthesis.

OP, being a felon isn't so bad, either... As long as you are good with a bow/arrow and bladed weapons.

Still better get that off your record or many good jobs will not be open to you.
With that sterling spelling and grammar they are gonna be beatin' a path to this young scamp's door.

First rule of insulting someone's intelligence: Don't fuck up your insult with an extremely elementary error!

do do so shows that YOU'RE dumb.

This prison politics manual -- I think there are a few of us here that have a bit of insight... Maybe you'll need a couple contributing authors. And, of course an editor or two. (You know, so that things like its/it's, loose/lose, and your/you're errors don't occur.)

LoL, I've been outta' MMJ for more than a week now -- I want a do do-over!

Nice oops on the quote. LoL I have absolutely no idea where that do do came from, either. I think it was "to do so..." (at least the ellipses in the prior sentence was correct...

This is why I gave up on being the 'net spiel chicken and grammar queen :) they just keep coming home to roost no matter what you do.

It's 2/3rds myth about felons and jobs. Depending on the felony, and the jobs. My violent crimes didn't prohibit me from a clearance (got me some waivers!) And, I worked for a bank while on parole for (wait for it....) ROBBERY.
Funny thing is, I get passed on jobs now, mostly because I used to do that consulting work.

If you can't ridicule other people for their imperfections, where's the fun, where's the spice in life come from? (No, CN ... we don't need a DUNE reference.)

I can see both sides of the coin.. I try not to be a grammar Nazi, but you can bet your sweet ass I will often post, reread it for errors, than go back and fix any and all spelling errors I find..
Often times in say politics, someone will be talking, might even have some very valid points, but as soon as they misuse there for their or they're, I can no longer take them nor their point seriously as they just lost huge amounts of credibility with me.. how am I supposed to believe that you know wtf you're talking about when you can't even put together a grammatically correct sentence or thought??

Outside of politics, I admit, it doesn't bother me nearly as much, but some people's posts can be extremely hard to read at times if they go over board with the Cuz proly me ain't no English stent..nah'mean jelly bean?

I've even pointed out that someone in politics was using there for their but they still continue to use the wrong word.. at this point I think they just do it to be a smart ass, at least I hope that's the case..

A lot.of.my spelling errors I can attribute to my damn predictive text if I'm on my phone and I won't catch it.. like the time I was trying to type flir and my phone kept changing it.to clit.. :)

And IMO, it's not mixing it up, either you know proper English, and use it, or.you don't .. granted, everyone messes up every now and than but when someone continuously uses the wrong term or word, and has even been told about it, but continues to misuse it, how on earth am I supposed to take anything they have to say intelligently ?
Idk, maybe I am childish .. don't really care, just the way I feel.. I'm clearly no Einstein, yet I put a very small amount of effort into making sure I put my posts out there as clear and concise as possible, so when others don't, well, that's on them..
Last thought on the subject.. who would you take more seriously, cannabineer or curious2garden, or the op of.this thread? I'm sure everyone will say c2g or cannabineer..

lol, I can barely keep up with bear or annie, I feel just a wee bit more informed after reading some of their posts.....some of their posts show me just how dumb I am :dunce:

while I can pick out most any grammatical error. I try not too. I realize we are a bunch of stoners. now if someone is being an all out dick to someone I like while using poor grammar, i'll bust out the grammar stick. ;)

Punctuation on the other hand....... I hate :(

I feel left out ... I'm going to start being a bit more like the others... More sesquipedalian. (kidding.)

I only dislike it when people who constantly fail to grasp the English language decide to correct others.

Punctuation (except abuse of ellipsis ... and exclamation points! I know, in The Elements of Style we were given 3 exclamation points through our life; but ... Fuck that!!!) I dislike that. Failure to use commas, periods, and paragraph breaks are annoying, and also understandable. As are the occasional misused homophones. The only one that I can't not be bothered by is a failure to use the Oxford comma.

EDIT: And, I guess punctuation in parenthesized text bothers me, because that bit in the above paragraph makes me want to fix it.
