What's the alternative? Letting immature punks ride around with weapons they shouldn't have? Why do you need a weapon to go get clothes anyway? I agree that doing time rarely makes somebody a better person but what alternative does society have to deal with people that have such poor decision making skills other than to separate them from the public? Stupid shit like this is exactly how innocent people are killed so I have absolutely no sympathy and think him and his cousins should be locked up. They'll get the message after the first raping or two.

Do you have a credit card? Some attorneys accept payment plans. I'm going to be honest from the sound of things you are in some deep shit mane but its not the end of the world. Call around find an attorney that specializes in criminal defense and schedule a free consultation. Picking an attorney is as important as picking a spouse. Get a feel for the and go with someone you feel comfortable with and that will fight for you. Best of luck.

My point is that unless given a life sentence, sooner or later the general public will be seeing them in circulation. After prison, many tend to come out a bigger threat to society than before they went in. IF a youth can be diverted successfully it can save the taxpayers in the long run.

I just don't have any sympathy for punks trying to live out one of their stupid rap songs. If he was going to get his shit together he'd have done it before getting in a car with minors in possession of drugs and an illegal firearm. That's just my opinion.

Ok, you not very good at following directions, so I will try to keep it easy.

Sounds like you are not in much trouble. The car was your cousins, the guns can easily be argued to belong to the car's owner, especially since they ran away. If your prints were not on the guns, you have about zero to worry about. I would see what the public defender has to say. He can tell you exactly what evidence the police have against you. If the police want to question you, do NOT talk to them without a lawyer! I would tell your lawyer you met these two yahoos at the 7-11 and they said they could score some weed for you so you guys jumped in the car. The police will probably think they were going to rob you and feel like they saved your lives.

Relax for now, talk to your laywer and see what evidence they have, plead NOT GUILTY for now. You have all kinds of time for discovery and motions to supress evidence, etc.

I couldn;t agree more with you on the punk banger wannabes. I just don;t think this guy is one of them. Now a second offense? That's not bad luck, that's guilty by association. Bernie Goetz is one of my heroes. I think the cousins should be doing time.

BTW - an attorney won't pull discovery papers until retained. Until they have discovery they don't know what they might be able to make happen in your favor. Wotk on earning up some bucks gorv an attorney.

I agree but when released he will most likely be relegated to the fringes of society. I think the key here is what was the intent for having the illegal weapon on that night in particular and why wasn't the weapon obtained legally? We will never know the truth because at this point it's about gaming the system for lesser charges.
