The size of the light means nothing if you don't grow properly. I bet you could put a seasoned grower with a few cfls against a newb with a 1000w and the cfl grower could more than likely pull more in than the newb.

The size of the light means they will amplify their mistakes. On a CFL, if the plant stretches, it wont stretch far. On a 1000w if the plant stretches that mofo is 6" taller the next day! I helped a friend with his setup once, he put 3 1000w's in a grow tent. I visit him a month into it and his plants are all PAST the lights by about a foot each! Sigh.... :) :) :)

I easily get a pound from a 600.
Many people do...it just takes proper care of your plants (good light positioning, nute schedule, veg time, etc.) and patience.

I haven't personally produced yields in that range but I know I will. I've got a 600 on the way to replace my 400 so I can use the whole flower room effectively and the first run with it will be with my hydro tray full of plants which I've not done yet. Going to see what I can do, you know?

Up til now I've just been harvesting a plant or two every 4 weeks or so and have been trying different things to decide just how I want to grow. I decided on going with just filling the room and harvesting once every 8-10 weeks to see what kind of numbers I can pull. Hopefully after a couple runs I'll hit the lb mark...

so what kind of light do you think for a 8 x8 room 6ft tall?600 400 1000? thanks only wana buy once.
Get a 1000 watt on a light mover or 2 600 watts.8x8 is a big space and a 600 would cover a 4x4 perfect a 1000 would do a 5x5 perfect so i would say get 2 600 watts or a 1000 watt on a light mover.

In a 8'x8' space....4x 600W would be better as each light covers a 4'x4' section. I have the same space to cover currently. I don't think 1000W'ters are appropriate for the space. Too much heat to control and in my opinion OTT.

not going to go that big man 4 is by far over kill i only think i should use a 1000 watter max or a 600 or 400 if even that is necc!!! thanks tho but i dont need any1 knocking cuz my bills high! i am thinking of splitting my 7 ft box into 2 veg areas one powered by a 150 another by 150 then take the 8 vegeed plants clone 30 days later and place them into 12/12 at my 8x8 area .... then take my clones and place them in veg for 25 days then flower them so there are about a month in diffference in the single flower room staggered..8x8.......would this work? and still not be smelt thru plastic using plastic and carbon filters?

if on a budget i would say get the 1000 with a light mover but i used one and trust me you will be way happier with 2 600w

I have never used a light mover but have looked into it for myself and what I've read so far a single lamp is not enough to cover that 8 foot of space effectively, most guys opted for 2 lights with a staged delay at either end on the mover. Personally if I don't bust the bank by getting a bunch of high powered latest generation LED panels I will get 2x 600W in cool tubes and ducting 6 inches from the canopy in each of the 8'x4' spaces.

Booya!!!!! that will kick some MOFO ass I reckon!!
