the 12 year olds have better gun safety practices than the 61 year old. i don't even leave a theater without checking for to make sure i still have my wallet, keys, phone, etc. this jackass leaves his loaded handgun behind.

from the article:
On Wednesday evening, Gary Quackenbush, 61, turned up at the theater seeking his missing gun, "like it would be in the lost and found with lost eyeglasses and other things," said Long.
"He has a concealed handgun license," Long said. "That will be revoked tonight. The law says if you are a danger to yourself or the public, it can be revoked."
A man answering a phone number listed for Quackenbush laughed and told a reporter, "Get a life."

i don't know whether to feel relieved that there's 12 year old kids with so much sense, or horrified that a guy would not only lose a loaded gun in a theater, but would nonchalantly waltz in to claim it like nothing's wrong. it's fine to have the cc permit, but for fuck's sake he left the thing for a kid to find without the safety on. he is the most dangerous type of stupid. those people who call 911 over chicken nuggets don't seem half as bad now.

finders keepers. any dumbass stupid enough to lose his gun deserves to lose his gun.

i'd only worry that it might have been used in a crime or was reported stolen, so a new barrel, and a quick emery polish to the bolt face and firing pin would be in order, followed by a quick photo of the serial number mailed to myself for the date stamp. just in case.

We aren't getting the big picture here. The guy who lost the gun might have been a hero if someone had gone to the theater and shot the place up he would have been there to protect all those people.

I am fairly certain that is why he took it into the theater, to protect all of those kids from the real shooter. You know, like the bat man movie shooter three or four mass killings of innocent people ago
