In need of advice for first grow

ok... i was under the impression that that would be enough to get them started... how many lights will i need in your opinion? this is the info on the model i have

High Output 6500K fluorescent lamp that simulate natural sunlight making them ideal for plant cuttings or vegetative growth (full spectrum 6400 Kelvins of lighting temperature).
 
how many watts and lumens, not sure about kelvins, bu id go with cfls if your goin flourescent

they are 24 watts, 2160 lumens

Yea, those are veg lights. All veg lights are @ 6500k.

to answer your question, right now i have a 24 inch "t5 sunblaster"

This will probably be ok for about a couple weeks, but you will definitely want to step the lighting up, IMO.
 
**update**

ok now i have 2 24" t5's and have converted my closet to a mini grow room, started germing seeds yesterday... only bagseed to see what happens, and got a bunch of pro mix soil, panda plastic(i believe that is what it is called) and some nuts for later
 
Sounds good...you should think about starting a journal.

i'm thinking about it, but not sure i will be able to keep up with it, but then again i am doing pretty good with this thread, almost seems like one anyway lol
