Off Catalina about 20 miles west when we got into a boil. It was a lil bit of heaven for maybe two hours. Talk about sore!

aww man I miss throwin iron on a boil and getting some fat yellows. Just got back from Guam though so I cant complain.....mahi, wahoo, and tuna all day with the occasional marlin.

just a quick update of my Inda at work. I've been having some issues with thrips so after a dose of take down I released a few hundred ladybugs in the tent to keep them in check. In the tent the Jack and skywalkers are doing well but only the jack is showing pistils after the 4th day of switching to 12/12. My large lady is clawing and having lots of issues but this is her last run due to the difficulty keeping her happy. The first pic is one of my outdoor ladies not sure the strain but she is very indica dominant. the last two are of the Jack Herer. Happy growing everyone!

Hiya Vet! Hope the ladybugs work for ya.

Your outdoor lady looks alot like the OG Kush I had in my backyard last summer. Unfortunately the heat got to her and I had to take her down a bit early.

Psitils on the JH for day 4 is pretty impressive. The SW has some catchin up to do.

How high do you have the light over the plants? I keep em 24-30" away once I'm flowering.

And that Guam trip sounds like fun. How many days on the water did you get in?

hey chaz, so the outdoor I was told was some kind of "dank kush" haha but not sure which one. It has been doing well standing up to the heat with temps hitting 106 during that last heat wave but I have also been giving her double strength feedings of silica blast which is definitely helping. My skywalker thats outside is a whole different story though. She is not happy. Ill get some pics of her up later.

I keep the lights about 18-24" from the plants during flower until they get too wide to get good coverage then I raise it up a little....I really need to get a light mover but I'm just not there yet.

Guam wasnt a trip for me I was actually stationed there for a few years and I was on the water as much as I could be. I'd take leave sometimes and just kill em for 5-6 days straight.....we did lots of trolling and spearfishing with the occasional deep dropping for big queen snappers and grouper. My favorite thing out there was high speed verticle jigging with butterfly jigs, we killed a lot of big dogtooth tunas and giant trevally's doing that.

im watchin guys been quiet here due to my girls cracking a stink about me tokin/growin i'll be back bigger than ever soon i promise tent full of inda gro for sure!!

here's the outdoor ladies...not sure if the yellowing is a normal thing when they start flowering but they seem to be pretty happy otherwise. This is my first time growing outdoors and I'm pretty excited about it. The last pic is the skywalker that's not happy with the heat. Happy growing:weed:

Yeah your yellowing is a Nitrogen problem/def.......it started in the middle to lower canopy/older leaves first/working from the tips back....classic case and an easy fix......good luck........love outdoor grows

hey yall.. been really busy, and then last night after i shot some videos of outside, my PC wouldn't let me access this site... it was odd as i was able to check email, and upload to youtube, but i got the comcast message about disconnected services whenever i tried to come here...

anyhoo, whatever it was is now resolved... i got the updates in the 730nm thread posted, and will get a video shot this evening for here.

the tent is currently just the Cannatonic and the Oregon Licorice - and they are getting very sexy indeed! i plan on cleaning a bit in there this evening and then bringing the Blueberry and one of the White Rhinos in to get them started. then i figure that the CT and OL will be down in a week or so, and the next CT and the Qrazy Train will go in.

well, i gotta get back to the chores... hope everyone is doing well, and i'll see yall again later tonight!

for now... a bit of my outdoor Blue City Diesel:

just touching base rq...

i just finished installing the 2nd slave trolley, and re-running the power cords, so now all 3 420s in the bloom tent are mobile. i need to clean the room up and finish making preparations to bring in 2 more girls, and then the Blueberry and White Rhino are coming in. i'm planning on doing the video update after they come in

also... the OL is looking SO sexy... almost burgundy coloring on some of the leaves... they almost match the buds under the frost of trichs. and the CT is a big shaggy muff... there. you can't say you haven't been warned. most all of her tips have gotten a case of the lean-over-n-fall; but despite that, they are still getting big and dense. just wait til the video update... i don't have access to an HD camera tonight, so i'll be posting macro pics here too, to try to make up for the general poor quality of my current phone's video. aside from that, i'll make an HD video update as soon as i can.

peace for now!

HOKAY

so, i know i promised a sweet video update n all that...

so here it is! :bigjoint:

i swear... veg looks so empty now... the White Rhino is on the left, in the back; the Blueberry is on the left in the front. i topped them and took about 9 branches each off for cloning. tomorrow will see the QT getting her 7gal pants on... i expect the OL will be done in less than a week, and when she does come down i got a fresh Cannatonic waiting to get gridded like these 2 and come join the party.

well, i got plants that want me to return to them... gotta run for now!

This has been one of the most informative threads I have read on RIU, even with the injections of negativity from time to time. Spliff, thank you for your efforts and due dillegence constantly posting updates and even video. You are a huge asset to the community and it is truly appreciated. I am currently in the market for a new light myself, I am currently vegging with a BlackStar 240 LED in a 2x2 tent and a 400w HPS + (2) 125 CFL's in a 2x4 tent. I am constantly struggling with heat and still not having the light quantity and intensity that I want to support an increase in my yields. When I switched from a 250 MH to the BS240 in my Veg it was one of the best choices I have EVER made, the reduction in heat and the quality of light has completely transformed my Veg tent. My plants are flourishing and I have never seen them so dark and green. Truly healthy and happy. So, my initial plan was to replace my 400watts HPS with 400watts of LED, my intent was to increases yield by increasing light and decreasing heat. Over the last 7 weeks, as I have saved my cash to be able to afford the high initial cost of LED's, I began to do a lot of research. I have looked into the new BlackStars, the Advanced LED's, and the Black Dogs. All seemed to be quality and worth the money and I had narrowed down my choices to either the new BlackStars or the Advanced. As I researched grows specifically using the BS and the Advanced LED I came across people discussing Induction lighting. I began to research induction and found Indo-Gro and then your thread. Wow, what a find! I have now scrapped the LED idea and am planning on ordering a Inda-Gro 420 Par for my 4x2 flowering tent here in a couple weeks. This will hopefully nearly double my light intensity, quality, and penetration in that space while reducing heat and reducing, even if marginally so, my electricity usage. My question is what do you guys think the shock will be to the plants transfering from a BS240 to the 420Par? Will it be too much? I want to order a Pro 100 Par for my 2x2 Veg but it will have to wait until the end of the year, funds are just too tight. Will I see a LARGE reduction in yield? I am making an assumption that the reduced yield on the Pro 420 would still exceed the current yield of my HPS & CFL's. Is this correct? I am currently getting about 300g's dried per harvest now, so only .75g/w. I know, I know, not great, but hey I am new at this. I have only been trying my hand with this for about 18 months. It has been a learning experience for sure. My yields have increased, but not near as much as my quality. I am very happy with the quality of my flowers, just not the quantity. I would really like to be getting 450-600g's per harvest, ideally. I am hoping the Pro 420 will help me get there. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Peace and Luck, and Spliff, THANK YOU AGAIN for your knowledge and taking one for the team.

Babybull,
An excellent question, I would love to see someone test PAR watts between the 405watt Blackstar Chrome and the Inda-Gro 420. I'm in the same boat, only I'm trying to decide between the 720watt Blackstar Chrome and (2ea) Inda-Gro 420s. I'm getting about .6 grams per watt with my 600w HPS Digilux, 400w Philips CMH ColorMaster Retro White combo in a 2x3 area... high heat & humidity were killers this year in terms of yield & quality. I definitely need to make the move before next summer. I ran across a grow with a Blackstar Chrome that claimed they achieved 1.3 grams per watt, unfortunately I didn't bookmark it and I haven't been able to find it since. I haven't seen anyone claiming a gram per watt with the Inda-Gro's yet.

Advantages
Blackstar - price per watt lower than Inda-Gro.
Inda-Gro - far fewer potential points of failure, much longer usable lifespan.

Possible Advantages/Disadvantages (no consensus)
Blackstar - Targeted PAR wavelengths, focused lighting, smaller footprint
Inda-Gro - Broad Spectrum PAR, evenly diffused lighting, larger footprint.

Disadvantages
Blackstar - Multiple points of failure, moving parts. Half the usable operational lifespan of Inda-Gro's Induction Lighting.
Inda-Gro - None.

All good points, AK and I think a decent comparison between Inda-Gro and BS. BS was my first choice until I found the IG 420PAR. I have been very satisfied with my BS240, excellent for veg in my 2x2. I tried to flower with it once, great taste and smoke but left a lot to be desired in terms of weight. I was looking into the 2013 BS EFSF 6's, I was going to need two of them to properly cover my space, the price tag would be $898 for both, and I would HOPEFULLY see a marked improvement in yield as I have seen several quality grows with BS, so I was hopeful. But my thinking is one IG Pro420 Par will fill my 4x2 by itself, be $100 cheaper than the 2 BS's, and from the look of numerous grows I have seen now will definitely improve my yield. It seems like a no brainer type decision, personally. In your case, AK, you would spend a couple hundred dollars more by going with the IG's, so I can understand your dillemma. Additionally, I figure I can always add some LED spot lighting down the road if I so desire, maybe 2 Kissel H350 Magenta's just to accent the spectrum in further favor of flowering. Just a thought and not even a possibility until next year, so for now I hope the IG Pro comes through for me.

Hiya Spliff! Looking forward to next update. The ladies are looking lovely good sir!

Whad up BUCK!!! We need to see some of that Aussie bud bro. Did you get your garden started yet?

Been going nutsso the last few weeks. Barely keepin up with the day to day. But we're back.

anyhew check out the budXXX for today. We're at day 21 of flower. Cleaned up the bottom just the day before these pics were taken so next update should show some flower power from the top down. We got the room running on 12 of the 420's so the whole room is running on four 20 amp 120 volt circuits and drawing a total of 5,050 watts in lighting. What's not to like???

damn yo... i started clicking those pics, and i swear, i think i could smell them! and that dozen 420 is literally out of my dreams! whats the climate control that they have implemented in there, and what's the day/night temp/RH? is it a sealed room?

the Lic is getting ready to come down in a week or so, and hopefully i'll be able to take time and vid her when i chop her. the CT is still trucking along... time correcting for her very slow transition into bloom (counting day one of floral top as day 1, not counting first day after first night as day 1) she's only one day off of the OL, so theres a chance they might both be ready at the same time.

QT is in her 7gal from a 3gal, and last night she and the next CT got what should be their last veg watering before they hit the tent.

hey there babybull! thanks so much for the kind words, and for joining the conversation  i'm happy you found us too!

first, i wanna mention that i have been plotting out my next garden upgrades, and i am looking at 2x4 or 4x4 tents. options that i have been tossing around, and that i expect would work based on my experience with IG 200s and 420s

a) a single 200PAR on a light mover in a 2x4 tent; 6 inch canopy clearance
b) a single 420PAR in a 2x4 tent; 6-8 inch canopy clearance (and perhaps a bit more ventilation than the 200 would want)
c) a single 420PAR on a light mover in a 4x4 (or 5x5) tent; 6-8 inch canopy clearance

now, those are options that i am looking at, to be playful and learn more... i AM NOT saying that i have ever flowered under a 200, and not promising that it would work with high yields, just that i think it would, and i am getting ready to shoulder the experiment to find out.

for what i DO know about IGs in bloom (420s), i think that your 420 in a 2x4 would absolutely kill it. then when you decide to test veg one under IG vs any LED, i bet you will list that LED on CL and move on... my veg is 2 200PARs over an open 5x10 area and 6 feet off the ground. 3 foot tall girls under them... girls that hit the 3 420s in bloom and take right off with no stress at all; it's the same spectrum, just a lot more intense.

i have heard great things about running 100PARs for clone propagation, i haven't gotten to try that yet as i don't have a 100 yet. based on seeing 200s and 420s in veg, i can't imagine the 100 giving poor results, but i would only think of using it in a 2x2 veg tent or so.

well, i need to get out n water the backyard... just wanted to be sure to get back at ya! once again, it's great to have you around!

WOW, Chaz! That garden is unbelievable! I wish I had even a 1/4 of that to work with, really sick setup and it shows. Your girls look killer for only being 21 days. This is going to be an incredible grow for you. Good luck with it. Please continue to post updates, I would love to see what that many 420's could do.

Thank you for the kind words and warm welcome, Spliff. I am glad you think the 420 will work in my 4x2, two more weeks and that sweet piece of induction is mine! I already spoke with Darryl, truly a gentleman and took time out of his day to answer my questions, in length. I was very impressed and grateful, he has truly earned my trust and my business. These next few weeks can not pass fast enough, lol.

Anyway, Spliff, do you think the 100 would be a good veg replacement light for my bs240 in my 2x2? Should I go ahead and just get the 200? Would that be too much light for veg in a 2x2? Thanks again!
