Guys I've decided to harvest plant 1 of 2. Will be cutting buds and beginning process in some time.
Let me know pointers if any... will be my first time. Pics soon.

also a bit off topic ... check out boheco.org ... Bombay Hemp Company... bunch of guys in the city spreading awareness of industrial hemp and its viability

Ok so here is the story,

1/11/2013 put the seed in.

3/11/2013 : Seed popped. Was supposed to be an auto but this plant never autoflowered. It kept growing till third week of january, which is very close to three months of veg time. Survived the coldest months of the year, with tempratures going as low as 5-7 Degrees Celcius. (about 41 degree F). also turned hermie i think because of the cold or bad genetics, either way, i must have pulled off 3-4 nanners during the course of its growth. However very lucky that it has produced ZERO seeds. So not really sure what genetics it is.

22/01/2013: Finally I decided to try light deprivation, which i started in the third week of jan. started covering the whole plant with a big cardboard box a bit before sunset,

27/01/2013 : Within 3-4 days i noticed the pistils forming and the start of flowering. continued with the light dep for about 10 or 12 days, and when i was sure it has started flowering i stopped putting the cardboard on top of it. so basically now this has been in flower since last week of january. probably at day 53-58 now.

02/03/2013 to 10/03/2013: Lots of un-seasonal rain. I think the rain water caused a nute lock out. started losing the fan leaves very rapidly, the buds started to dry out too and become lifeless.

11/03/2013: Flushed the plant and it seemed to have worked. Although i lost all the fan leaves, the buds came back to life, the smell returned and how, and i could see the life come back.

14/03/2013: took a small sample from one of the lower branches. dried for three days and smoked it. very nice energetic high with a slight smile on the face. this smiling effect is completely missing from the hash i have been getting over here.

20/03/2014: lt seemed to me that a couple of the branches were ready to be chopped off. most of the pistils had turned, the color changed to brown/red from white. so today i copped of one of those branches. will dry it for a few days and see how it smokes.


I was wondering if the more experienced people here could help me determine how close is this to being ready?

^^^^Hey man nice grow. What strain is that ? Can you describe the smell too. I got a bagseed running now that looks very similar in growth structure. It also has a great smell that is familiar but I just can put a name too it. Also mine was a late flower er. Starting about 2 weeks later than some hybrids I was running. This was despite it alternating branching at the sixth node (a few months and many nodes earlier than the others) and being the first to show pre-flowers.

well like i said, this was supposed to be either a big bang auto or some other autoflowering strain. thats what i thought i had started.

but now i am inclined towards this being one of our very own indian sativas, the smell is very "Sweet" ....reminds me of the sweet smell of the hash we get from himachal......if i am close to my plant for 5 minutes it gets overwhelming by its sweet and strong smell....the smell is all over my clothes....

about the late flowering, well im not sure whats late and whats not with this plant, because i planted this seed when the actual grow season is about to get over in our country, at the beginning of winter......she just wouldnt flower even with as little as 11 hours of light per day...... only started flowering when i started covering it with a cardboard box to deprive it of light to about 10 hours a day

what hybrids are you growing? post some pics.

they look on the cloudier side to me... also you got some amber trichomes coming up right there so I guess your bud has peaked and is ripe for picking:joint:

btw, I check on the thread below from time to time for keeping up with the development of my plant as compared to a proper bud picked for harvesting

Alright!! time for some bud porn!!
This one's from my first plant... haven't chopped the entire plant yet. This one was a sample i cut out and dried for 2 days
quite a few pistils brown and trichomes in good! lemme know how it looks
rolled up this one... took about a good 15 mins to kick in but then it gave a good clean high
Giving the plant some more time though, cuz there are amber to brown pistils but no amber trichomes yet

And this one is from plant #2. This one's a bit young.. almost all pistils are white and a few turning brown. Trichomes coming good. Again, pistils are amber to brown but no trichomes amber.
Am drying and curing this one so will roll and have it this weekend. Hoping this is a better yield.

Ya. Ordered twice. Smoked in a joint first. Din affect much. Then read up a little n smoked in a bong the second time with jet flame lighter pointed at it. Tripped Balls lol.

Yeah Its damn neat! How did you find it... cuz I was searching ebay with many combos of keywords for salvia divinorum etc etc but finally had to come back here and click on the link

@heisenbuds- Yea man.. chopped her down a month or so ago. Pretty mediocre stuff.. it's quite uplifting and energetic. Good day smoke, but overall bud and high quality is pretty meh... I had to pull her down mainly cause the mites came HARD one day and wouldn't leave. I definitely think the darkness factor(which I mentioned before) could have improved it a lot. Oh well.. on to the next one. Ill be doing indoor imported hybrid's, next grow, just not sure when.. I've had some other things to take care of/work on, so haven't really been thinking about it lately. How did your bud's turn out?

@braddaheee mine have turned out quite well.... they take a bit of time to kick in but when they do it is quite awesome
I get the munchies and a pretty decent and satisfying kick from it. But the best part is it tastes good and smooth ... so no violent coughing or sore throat which you get from shit stuff

Right on bro! I might have gotten a bigger yield, but sounds like you got the better buds! My friends liked my stuff, and it was decent compared to some other shit I got here, but def wasn't anywhere near up to par with the good shit I've had. I could see the potential here n there, but I needed better growing conditions to really bring it out in her. Next grow, I should have a more controlled environment and plan to flower clones both inside and out. It'll take a while before I get started tho...

yup ...I guess so...atleast next time i'll be much more prepared for the yield and grow than this time.
I guess it will be an outdoor grow again cuz its much easier to let it bud when winter sets in rather than monitor 12/12 behaviour.
I guess I'll start again by june/july so by december it will grow to a decent height and bud thereon

How are everyone doing? any updates?

Btw I've got a bit of a setback.
I just checked upon my final budded plant which I was supposed to chop in a week or two. Upon close examination when I separated the leaves to see the buds I ended up spotting a huge layer of white spider eggs laid there. (Guess it's my own fault coz I stopped spraying to avoid pesticide riddled buds but those eggs were quite dense)
That too on my top two colas where the fattest buds were there. Guess there's no quitting when it comes to taking care of the plant. Took my eyes off for 2 weeks and this happened!
So I took drastic action ... cleaned out the eggs and went full power with pesticides, kept a portable fan to dry out the bud so mold does not set in.... however I did end up shocking the plant... leaves are turning black and falling off and its not the same.
Buds still need to grow as the trichomes are still clear not white or amber.
Is there any natural way or any other method to stem this damage and get it back to normal?
