Damn that was fast. This forum is pretty cool. Thanks nutbag. Tomorrow is 5 weeks. Topped and trained to grow wide and short. All 3 afghan kush. Front one in 1 gal foxfarm but started in solo cup so iits smaller. Back left is 3 gal coco and big one is dwc. I really like the healthy green color of coco. There are so many different varieties of afghans and kushes that there's no general answer. You'd have to look for info about your particular version.
Afghan kush early harvest.....world of seeds. Anyone grow these with advice?Damn that was fast. This forum is pretty cool. Thanks nutbag. Tomorrow is 5 weeks. Ha, I was wondering if you were going to say World of Seeds. I grew a seed of their Afghan Kush (normal version) several years ago. I didn't top mine...it grew one big tree trunk with very little side branching. It barely stretched at all. I was new to looking at trichs with magnification and tried to let it go until I saw some amber. By about 9 weeks I hadn't seen any amber and decided to cut it anyway. It turned out stupifyingly stony... totally fuzzed out mentally but a pretty strong body hum. It wasn't my cup of tea buzz-wise but I'm thinking I probably should have cut it at least a week earlier. I think the flavor faded a bit too....it started out with sort of a sweet lime thing that ended up with a basic nice hashy flavor. I think they actually claimed a 50 day finish time on that one but I wasn't sure I should believe it. So I'd say don't worry about cutting those on the early end of things. I happened to see your post pop up in the new post list and figured I could give you a little bit of something. That was a cool freebie...something a little different on the extreme indica side. I have a couple more that I'd still like to check out if I can ever get to them. Good luck with yours!Afghan kush early harvest.....world of seeds. Anyone grow these with advice?
You should do some learning about topping.i have 3 indicas and 3 sativas in a tiny closet space (approx.2x4x7) and am not sure whats going to happen when they start flowering. theyve been switched to 12/12 a few days ago so i still have some time yet before i notice vertical growth. the sativas are about 10 inches higher than the indicas. had to veg them longer than expected so i hope they dont double in size.
As far as photoperiod plants are concerned, topping is good for ALL strains. It will stunt them but they grow back with a vengence and all the side branches start growing faster and bigger. Gives you a much more even canopy. Yes I know the two grows pictured are very different here but one is like a christmas tree and one is a giant even bush of horse cock size kolas. Do you want one horse cock and many many micro dicks or do you want all horse cocks? When it comes to autoflowers.... low stress training is best to achieve an even canopy.I'm not sure it's the kind of strain that's best for topping but it'll work for a first try.
If its a photo plant you can keep plucking nodes until the branches are long enough to not be packed in to close.I think more often than not, if you're growing in a tight space, topping and training and trimming the undergrowth is helpful. But some plants just end up with too many stubby branches all packed in too close. It's kind of situational I'd say.
