Instant Validity Strip?

Hello all. I'm sorry if this has been answered but I can't seem to find anything related to my specific question.

Yesterday I took a pre-employment urine test, followed by a physical. I haven't smoked in about a month after years of light (daily-ish) use. I fail at home tests on the first void but get a strong line after my usual 3 cups of coffee. I passed a first check immediately prior to going to the testing place.
When I handed over the specimen, the lady dipped what looked to be a validity strip into the cup, something like seven multicolored boxes. After about 30 seconds, she poured some into a single vial, sealed it up and had me initial.
My question is two-fold: If my gravity or creatinine was off, would she have asked for a second sample?
If the strip showed dilute, would they have continued with the physical at the cost of my prospective employer?

That would be between them and your prospective employer. If you are curious I'm sure you could call and ask about their contract with your prospective employer's human resources department.

Your logic is unassailable.

Back to the op's question....

When they take a sample, they usually check it for temp to make sure it came out of you. If they put a strip in it, it could have been a quick test (similar to your home test). If that is a failure, they send a sample off to a lab for a more precise test. If that fails, you fail the test.

I've never seen them check the og at the office where they take the test. That isn't a strip test anyway.

In any case, they wouldn't tell you anything at the lab if they were sending a test off for a second test. They also wouldn't ask for another sample, they would just mark it as an adulterated test.

Best guess from your description is you failed the quick 5-panel test and they sent part of the sample to the lab for verification.

You will know within 2-3 days.
