Intake and exhaust through a window?

Hey guys,

my cabinet is starting to get a little stinky now so I’ve run a duct from my inline fan to a window in my basement and made a box that encloses the window.
My question is....would it beneficial to the plants to run a line from each of my intake fans to this box and have them extend longer than the exhaust line?

basically I would have the exhaust one end behind the two intakes and the intakes would be up against the window screen. This would allow fresh air from outside as well as exhausting used air. Or do I just leave it and let my intakes pull cool air from my basement?

I would imagine doing your suggested idea would just create a micro climate where you would be pulling in the air you exhausted. I could be wrong, but i think you might aswell exhaust the hot air and then pull from the basement! Im interested in seeing what more experienced guys say

If it were me, I'd pull my air from the basement, unless you have some sort of filter protocol to be sure you're not sucking in issues you don't want from outside (pests). I'm a little paranoid though, so take it with a grain of salt. Good luck.

Just a question can you bring in air that's been cleaned what I'm really trying to say can mold come through intake and ruin crop

I would say yes you can.....although, I don't think 'clean' air is going to prevent mold per se. I would guess most who grow inside are growing in relatively 'clean' air and yet Bud Rot and Powdery Mildew are alive and well. Clean air is a good start, but it's not the do all in terms of preventing mold per se. Keep your environment in check and I don't think you'll have an issue one way or another. Good luck.

I think it's a good question, not a noob question. I don't have the scientific background to confirm or deny if mold spores from a wet environment other than the one you're growing in, can migrate from other parts of your home and affect your plants negatively. It's an interesting question; sorry I can't be of much help otherwise. Good luck.
