Intelligent design

I'm begginning to wonder if aliens terrarformed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terraforming ) the Earth.

Like I asked earlier, why else would We be the only planet to have oceans, fresh water bodies and live at a perfect distance from the Sun?

So if aliens did terraform the Earth, then We were created by Intelligent Design. And if You don't believe there are aliens in space and capable of doing such things than thats Your problem. Because We humans, if We put Our minds to it and worked on a global scale, could easily start terraforming other local planets in Our solar system and We are in Our infancy as far as an intelligent space exploring race.

Its also very possible that the aliens could genitically modify Our DNA, just as We can perform wonders with stem cell research.

So for all the athiests out there, prove Me wrong or consider the fact that ID is a very plausable. Just answer the question why there isn't life on the Moon, Venus and Mars (although there could be intelligent life on Mars from the pics I have seen, or at least there was intelligent life).

I don't see how having an addiction to substances that alter your consciousness is a evolutionary trait. It's probably not even a genetic trait, just an ingrained condition unique to the only sentient species on the planet.

I mean, who hasn't seen little kids spin themselves repeatedly just to get dizzy to alter their mental state.
Have you ever seen the drunken animal in Africa when a certain fig over-ripens and ferments?
Puking lions with monkeys passed out their back, staggering elephants, giraffes walking into trees.
Consciousness is for altering.

Do you have proof of this? Cause I'd like to see this (real movie footage would be even better.)

Instead of recycling the same speculative crap you brought up in your earlier post, why don't you respond to some of the questions and comments first? That's how it goes in a debate, we responded to you, now you respond back.

(I think this is why they make ignore buttons)

we live in the milky way galaxy, wich is 100,000 light years accross. a light year is 6,000,000,000,000 (six trillion) miles (give or take). there are 200,000,000,000 (two hundred billion) stars in the milky way (estimated).
there are 200,000,000,000 to 500,000,000,000 (two to five hundred billion) galaxies.
considering the enormity of it all, how arrogant is it to say we are the ony planet to have ANYTHING. there are a hundred thousand trillion stars (give or take), if even one out of every thousand billion stars had life on it, we would not be unique.

Exactly! I was telling someone else the same thing less than a week ago. I'm not sure about the exact figures though.

The point being is that the known universe is HUGE (who knows if there were other big bangs too)! There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on all the beaches on the Earth.

Now Our star the Sun, which is a yellow dwarf, has over 9 planets (I'm including the moons too) orbiting it. So imagine how many planets there are in the universe if there is an average of 10 planets per star. There are probably more stars than that in a normal sized solar system considering Our star is a DWARF compared to normal sized stars.

I believe certain aliens have been intelligent for millions of years now and have been evolving rapidly ever since. I wouldn't doubt it if they have space ships that can produce wormholes and go faster than the speed of light.

I don't believe the Earth just went from a dry rock like the Moon, Venus, Mars, etc, to a lucious, life supporting planet. I believe We were seeded (they knew about terraforming http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terraforming ) here by ETs, and evolution has been taking place ever since. I believe We are part alien, thats why We are so smart compared to other species. I believe every life is a gift from God. So candidly, I believe in both ID and evolution.

Just My honest and humble opinions :D

I have a new theory it's called "Retarded Design"
Good thing Jesus had a small Alligator in his hand back then in case that Dinosaur gave him shit for riding on his back.

Here is what happened in the begining according to "Retarded Design": The Universe burped and Jesus was flying in space. He was like "oh shit those space aliens are trying to seed my planet with dinosaurs". Then he flew down and kicked the shit out of the aliens. He then proceeded to ride the dinosaurs around a just have a good time for a few million years.

More to come . . .

You can believe what you want but the point of all of this discussion is who has the evidence to support their conclusion.

Why do you think the earth when from a dry rock to a life supporting planet? Have you read anything on the formation of the earth? Science has a few pretty good models on how the solar nebula formed the planets and our own moon may have formed from an impact with Theia, a Mars sized object. We also have a pretty good understanding of how our early atmosphere was produced by volcanic activity, no artificial terraforming necessary.

You might have a good science fiction story there, but as I asked you in my previous post, why don't you respond to the questions already put forth to you and others? Where is your evidence that life didn't begin here.
Also, if life was planted here by some advanced race of aliens, you run into the same problem as other design proponents; where did that life begin and how? Where the aliens designed? Did they come about by special creation? Life had to begin somewhere. Being put here by aliens still doesn't answer those questions.

I didn't know that the science was 100% behind your THEORIES. Therefor I said what I BELIEVE because there is room for SPECULATION!

Don't quote Me but I heard that water was brought to Earth by astroids or something. So how come the other planets didn't get hit with water too?

"early atmosphere was produced by volcanic activity" How does that produce anything besides co2 and lava? Our atmosphere is mostly nitrogen and oxygen and only ~350 PPM of co2.

"Where is your evidence that life didn't begin here." I just don't believe it did. It could have if there were optimal conditions, but where did Earths water come from? How come every other planet doesn't have water?

"where did that life begin and how? " Idk. I'm sure any planet with a conducive enviornment will eventually sprout life from "nothing". Bacteria comes from out of space from astroid dust, or so I've heard.

"Where the aliens designed? " Idk.

"Did they come about by special creation?" Yes, We all are.

What other questions do You want Me to answer? I don't feel like going back in the thread.

But for all We know We could just be on a single plane of observation and ignorant to the "higher planes". For example, We only see the "visible" spectrum but some animals, like snakes, see a different spectrum like IR.

Actually, dude, we're just in the habitable zone. Both Venus and Mars could have had oceans, we don't know for sure, and life. However, something happened that caused a runaway greenhouse effect on Venus, and mars doesn't have a very strong magnetosphere, it doesn't hold an atmosphere too well...Venus suffers from the same fate, so it isn't really protected from the solar winds and radiation that have boiled the water out of the atmosphere....it also shears off the top layer of clouds, but scientists think something is constantly replenishing them, as venus has not been laid bare to our gaze.I could go into more detail, I really do love astronomy, but basically, the Earth had a strong enough magnetosphere to protect it,a moon which some theorize has kept its rotation stable, kept the area relatively clear of debris, and has a tidal influence which plays a part in some of the geological processes that keep the planet active.Other geologically active bodies do include Saturn's moon Titan, which also has a thick atmosphere, and Io...I personally think Titan could be a good candidate for terraforming....but that is a long time in the future and we know little about it.Europa and Ganymede may also have a liquid ocean beneath their surfaces, which could possibly harbor life near geothermal vents. We just don't know.I do believe there are other life forms out there, but I don't think we've met them yet.http://www.nineplanets.org/venus.html
http://www.nineplanets.org/mars.html Here's some stuff on Venus and mars...and I recommend just for fun you read the 2001 series by Arthur C.Clark, I think you'll like it.Keep it mind that it is fiction.

It's good of you to inform us of 'the point' of this PUBLIC discussion.

You know, I think it is OK to speculate in a discussion about INTELLIGENT DESIGN, no one is pretending to KNOW anything, except YOU.

The Evolution of OUR species still has large (so far unexplained) Gaps in it (Homo Erectus and Modern man are distinctly different species).

Speculation and 'What if's' are good for you, stop hating on people just because you're closed off to any idea's that you can't test out straight away.

I guess it's a symptom of this 'instant gratification' soiciety we live in.
