iPhone Users?

I have an iPhone4 (don't need it, actually hate it) with possibly one of the most annoying issues I've ever come across.. So what happens is, I'll put on a playlist in the built in 'Music' folder and go workout, but the app will work for a song or two then just stop playing. The track will still move forward as if it's playing, but no volume comes out of the headphones or speaker. I have to quit the application, turn my phone off, restart it, get back into it and play the music again, and 3/4 of the time, it just still does the same thing. You can imagine the frustration when, every time this happens, I have to stop what I'm doing and spend a good 2 minutes fixing the goddamn issue.

I've looked fucking everywhere for a solution to this problem. I've been thinking of taking it into Apple to get it looked at but I can't make it work on command and sometimes it doesn't do that, sometimes, rarely it'll play fine. I have a feeling they would just say something like "well, there's not much we can do about it.." or "that's a known bug, our technicians are working on it"...

I will love you if you know how to fix this shit!

(this isn't the only problem with this overhyped phone, it's truly a piece of shit, I had to get my first one, that's right, this is a second issued iPhone, replaced because the speaker volume went out so bad I couldn't hear anything)

At more than $300, it should floss my fucking teeth and I'm dealing with this bullshit daily..

Have you tried making different playlists in Itunes? I never have an issue and use several different play lists.

Um, I really rely on my iPhone for most things... Work, school, navigation etc Its literally saved my ass plenty of times, but all technology hits a snag now and again.

I've never encountered this error, but really, just try going to the Apple store. They are a super friendly bunch. When I fucked up my mac mini (moving system files I shouldn't have and other things) they fixed it for me and I sold it. Then when I got a secondhand iMac (it was 7 years old and grade C) and the Logic board/power supply died, they waived the service charge and replaced my iPhone which was screwy because I dropped it alot, helped me sync everything up and chatted to me about manga in the meantime. THEY GAVE ME A FREE IPHONE despite my phone's warranty having run out and I didn't buy the phone OR my computer from them.

Trust me, just go up there- they are nice people.

And why did you buy the phone? You could have gotten it cheap or free on contract. My contract is $18, which I think is reasonable for a smartphone that does pretty much everything for me.

As for your problem you could try

- Un-jailbreaking, if it is Jailbroken
- Removing all your music, then syncing it back on
- Toggle the volume limit on/off in the music app's settings
- Turning the silent switch on and off
- Backup and sync/restore the phone
- Are you sure it's not just a couple of problem tracks or playlists? Could the files be corrupted?
- Could be an issues with iTunes recognizing where you got the songs from. I admit I've never bought a track from the Apple Store but some people say the phone has trouble playing 'strange' files. Never had this issue but that's what they say.
- Also linked is the iOS. What version are you running? You might need to upgrade or downgrade it. There is apparently a problem with iOS 5.0.1

You said you've been looking everywhere? I found 15 sites in 6 minutes that all seem to be saying the same thing; iOS 5 + Music app is the problem, and there are a good few lists of 'fixes' that might be more or less helpful than mine..

Hope that was vaguely useful, PadPad ^^; <3 xxxxxxx

I dunno, Tip Top has an Android and he seems to be grumbling at it alot.

I grumble at my iPhone when a 3rd party application crashes, not default applications or the hardware.

Meh, I guess there are two types of people in this world... Apples... and um... Kumquats?

I have an Android phone, Droid 2, it's worked great for me for two years now (far superior to the garbage that was my Blackberry Storm).

The only issue I've been having with my phone lately is that it runs out of battery so damn fast. Like I'm charging it every fhree to four hours it seems. I probably just have some program running in the background draining all my battery, but I'm too lazy to figure out what it is, haha.

As far as what's better (Iphone or Android), I really think they're basically the same.

Yeah I think I might call em, the closest location is 2 towns away, and when I went in there last time the dude just sat right next to me working on my phone trying to sync it up and didn't say more than 5 words, it was pretty damn awkward. I was sitting there for 25-30 minutes twiddling my thumbs..

The fuck? Never heard of anything like that before. I use Verizon, plan is around $80/mo and when I bought the phone, I already had a contract going with them, I upgraded from a previous phone. So either you got a sweet deal or I got screwed.

-not jailbroken
-last ditch effort, I'll probably have to do that
-volume's good
-silent switch is off
-such a pain in the ass!
-yeah I'm sure, it happens with different songs at different times, then those songs will play other times...
-I hate iTunes, gotta be one of the worst programs written in a while
-5.0.1

Yeah I was searching around for a good 20-25 minutes earlier and could only find one post somewhat similar to describing the problem, I'll do some more searching around, thanks bud :)

I have absolutely zero issue with android as an OS, it bloody rocks :) What i do have issue with is how shit smartphones are :) God for a nokia 3310, the notion of having to charge your phone once a week or fortnight seems more like a fairytale than the norm it used to be. But no, somehow the need to use facebook every waking moment of your life appears to be more important than your phone being functional as well, you know, a phone. Maybe if the tablet market get's big enough people will start making realistic mobile phones that actually work as a mobile phone, knowing that they can put all their waste of time battery drianing bullshit into the tablets :)

Nah man, I think the tablet market is just about tapped. I didn't think it would get as big as it did actually.. When they were first coming out I couldn't think of the demographics they'd be marketed to. Not nearly as powerful as a standard desktop PC or even a good laptop, so gaming, realistically anyway, is out of the question. Most laptops are better imo, and usually cheaper, too..
