Damn i would do those, but that's a lot of soil to purchase. Is 42gallons a little overkill? Why not just go into the ground at that point? Correct me if I am wrong.i'm gonna do those $9 dollar trash cans from wal-mart. they are like 42 gallons. couple holes in the bottom for drainage, and i'm set.

No way you will get a bigger plant from a bigger container outdoors, providing all conditions are prime and the same

go with as big of container as ur space allowes..look into smart pots, they are awsome..next year im using 150 gal smart pots..
