Funny thing, a 50 megaton bomb doesn't scare me any more than a 10.
i agree they are both scary, but for where i live the jump from 10 to 50 in seattle area would be the diff of being in blast radius or just dealing with fallout. im not saying any off this will happen but i dont feel the general public is being properly informed about it, virtually no one i know had heard about this, i felt the need to bring it to the attention of anyone who would listen

We have bad ass drones. Robotic warfare. U.S. is too bad ass to go to war against. A conventional war against the U.S. would never work. And we have all seen the movie War Games, so the alternative is just as dumb as a conventional assault.

Were all moving to Alpha Centari soon anyways, right? Oh, wait , never mind, the space program only has a budget for bottle rockets now..... NASA is just 2 guys, a soda can, a m-80 and a bottle.

But appearances are deceiving. Behind these statistics lies a far more fragile Chinese economic reality. The relative calm of the Chinese economy actually conceals far greater risks.

The biggest short-term risk is financial overleveraging. Thanks to its decade-long credit boom, the Chinese economy as a whole is far more leveraged (indebted) than any of the major emerging market economies. Net domestic credit as a share of GDP is close to 140 percent in China, compared with roughly 90 for Brazil, 75 for India, 60 for Turkey, and 35 for Indonesia. To make matters worse, most of the debt is owed by state-owned companies, real estate developers, and local governments that are known for wasting capital on financially unprofitable investments.

It is how we screw over everyone. Capitalism and 3 card Monty can be exactly the same game for the naive.
so just read that article and i dont see how we screwed them. it seems like they screwed them selves.

Hey, Clinton gave advanced missile guidance tech to China and India at the same time. That freaked me out.

But, even then the message was crystal clear, to the rivals. Nuke your continent, until you are eating each other.

Or, get your asses into orbit and become Spacefaring.

China now has manned missions. And India just got their 1st Mars Orbiter inserted into the transit path. We will see in 2 years or so. Mars eats as many spacecraft as it accepts. Need to get that orbit. Not easy.

Oh right, sure. We just stand there? Not that way. Check out what we did to Japanese investors in the 80s.

Don't worry, I'm sure their subs are built as shitty as everything else they produce.
I wouldn't count on it - they've penetrated and compromised US defence technologies through cyber espionage, you've have past administrations that have straight out committed treason in their decisions to look the other way regarding defence tech that has gone walkabouts to china through human espionage.

A list of the U.S. weapons designs and technologies compromised by hackers

The only other country that conducts the most aggressive espionage operations against the US is Israel...

There are many more reasons for China not to attack us than there are for them to do it. As for nukes it is not a matter of "whoever strikes first wins", it would be more like "oh shit everyone on earth is dead". In any event, it would make no sense for them to attack us. It would be like loaning your absolute best customer trillions of dollars... then nuking him.

agreed but it would make more sense to use petrodollar warfare to limit their growth and industrial capacity while devaluing the yuan...

They have an arsenal that can put us in check. We have an arsenal that can put the world in check mate. They wouldn't dare do it.
The leaders of China wake up every day and think " I really like being the leader of this"

What makes you think they want to preside over a Glass parkign lot.

If anyone really is worried about China than the right thing to do is stop buying their stuff

Paranoia and Cultural Ignorance are a bad mix
Especially with some High-test Herbs and a $1Tn+ Death Cult as an adjunct.

The only real threat to America is 'Murica...
