Fair enough i'm not disputing it just trying to wrap my head around it with all the info i can find. One thing i have learned over the years is science changes... all the time. What's fact today can be wrong tomorrow. That may be the case here. I'm set in my ways but still like to try to be open minded for that very reason.

I think you guys debating something that really doesn’t have a right answer. Over the years I’ve vegged 18/6 or 24 hour and didn’t find any noticeable difference under mh or t5. Could just be the shock of going from t5 to cmh but I have been running 18/6 as soon as they are out of solo cups. I still run my t5 over mothers and teens 24. I noticed my plants looked droopy and tired when I tried to run the 315 on 24 hrs so I moved it down to 18.
Anyways what I’m saying is it really depends on your room and lighting intensity.
I do think that the plants really do about the same on 18 hours as 24 hours. So I’d recommend most people do 18/6. But I do leave mother’s and teens on 24 as it’s not much electric and I like to be able to get in there at random times and not have to worry if light is on.

We've debated this before....
I agree that 24/7 "works".....
BUT,
The plant has so much going on during a dark period (growth and health wise). I'll stick to keeping a dark period.... I just don't feel that it's worth losing some of those bio actions...
That term "Bio actions", also applies to the soil and root zone. The lost interactions between the two, can cause later issues.....
Pictures of plants growing mean what? How does a picture prove anything about running a dark period or not?
Anyway, nuff of that negative shit...

Oh my! I just went back and actually looked at that video from @Aqua Man ..... Nice video and that covered some interesting points...... Gotta look for some papers on the subject by the PhD in it....
Look around google scholar Mongo..pony up the cost of a key or take a college class and get a key for free....(to open locked papers)

I remember making ice hash with dry ice, then I put the ice(frozen CO²) into a tub of H²O in my flowering room. The fog would get so dense in there that ya could barely see the plants.
