Is flushing solution necessary?

I see that all the hydro lines offer some sort of flushing solution, is this stuff good? Better then ph'd water? or simply a huge waste of cash?

I use water and do not know of anyone including my hydro guy who uses anything other than that.

I used straight water on my first grow and clearex on the second and third grow. I believe the plants flushed with clearex taste better but that could just be me justifying the money spent on the clearex

flushing solution is for excess salt buildup. If the plants werent overly fed, the wont need to be flushed.
