I looked around and found it was a clone only strain for a while but those posts were older from 2009 and iv seen seeds clamping to be sour diesel from cal connection and what got me wondering if ther were legit was the genetics said original sour diesel clone X sour og male. I'm not too sure about what real sour d's genetics are but it said also mostly sativa and I know sour diesel is sativa dominant 90%/10% so are these seeds another knock off sour diesel or are they the real deal? Here's a link https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/cali-connection-original-sour-diesel/prod_234.html
in clone only, you can get fem, seeds of any strain it is just like the clone but in seed form..ky

the ecsd is the cut that 90% of people have of sour diesel.. is the same cut rez made and based his sour d seed line off of...its dank just not like its sister the original sour diesel clone.. which is all kerosine and has the hit that lasts...the original sour diesel cut is also reffered to as aj cut aka assholejoe aka weasel. the guy who created the sour d on accident.. the person who sour diesel came from the ecsd etc.
I know this is a mad old post my brother but around 2009-2012 what was more in circulation the ecsd or the weasel cut? That's around the last time I had it and am trying to track me down a cut

Is this thread still alive? Can anyone help me distinguish the difference between sour d notsodog cut, weasel cut, skunktek cut. Would really appreciate any real info on these strain.

The original sourbdiesel has very white crystally trichomes that shine a pinkish hue in the light. That's the sour diesel I had back in 2008 atleast, should taste exactly how it smells and as its name suggests, Sour with a dieselly fuel taste

Do you or any know where I can get some orignal cuts?
I'm not aware of any sour cuts that would pre-date the ecsd and aj cuts.. tho I'm no sour historian by any means. I don't know enough about the albany to say much about it. I see some other cuts from reputable dealers listed as just "sour diesel" that look pretty convincing, but odds are they're just one of the already mentioned cuts.

I may be entirely wrong, but I can't imagine there are any "original" ANYTHING out there, anymore. As far as I know, most of the original strains that are now legendary, disappeared before any kind of concentrated effort to maintain and stabilize anything. By the time anyone got to that point, most of the stuff was crossed with this and that or something or another. But, NOW, the complexity of the hybrid lines is so long, there isn't anything that can possibly stay the same as it was, originally. When I started smoking, in the 70's, everything was from outdoor-grown landrace stuff -mostly sativa from South of the border. A lot of it was poorly-grown with no visible trichomes....They lacked a lot -by today's standards- of what weed is supposed to look like, but what those old strains had was distinctive smells and flavors. You knew when you had the skunky blueberry weed that came from Mexico. You absolutely knew when you were smoking Columbian. You absolutely knew what That weed tasted like. There really weren't any well-known strains, back then by comparison to today.

As far as who has the real Sour Diesel or any other hybrid....? Who knows? Personally, I think a lot of these strains are here for awhile, but then they disappear, within a few years -through their own complex lineage and integration with every other strain out there. If anyone was maintaining them, then someone would know it. I don't even know if it's possible to maintain cuts for decades. And if you weren't around to know what they are supposed to be to begin with, then anyone can tell you anything about what the strains are...and how would you know, one way or another? For example, I was around when Thai weed was around, but what people are calling/selling Thai weed, now, isn't even remotely the Thai weed I know...not even close. Same thing goes for Columbian...I know what it's supposed to be...but when someone sells it, now, it's not the same thing. That's why every operation needs to have some employees who are old and who can still remember what weed used to be. Otherwise, it's just all going to end up as meaningless hype.

I mean there are probably still some tasty strains out there, but they appear and disappear like waves on the ocean. I think Sour Diesel is probably one of them by now.

I just picked up the AJ cut. Will know in a few months if it’s what I used grow back in 2013-2018 before I stopped growing for a while.

I got seeds from a friend who purchased an ounce from a Cali dispensary. I found a phenomenal plant that produced well and quite literally is the best weed I have ever smoked. All
Of my friends who smoked it agreed. Especially for energy and creativeness. With only about 10 seeds found, I assumed that the plant hermied. I guess it could have been a hybrid. The others seeds that sprouted were equally as good on the high if not better but did not produce like the keeper.

anyway after reading most of this thread I am believing that I may have been growing ECSD back then. Looking forward to seeing what the AJ cut is like. One thing I know is it’s good shit

I think Katsu, has the best example of original SD, in seed for.

He has the original clone, plus he has Stoneys ( RIP ) SD Male. I believe the male is from the original release of SD from years ago. Stoneys male, is supposed to be the best breeding male, ever found of SD.

where did stoneys make come from, considering what I know about it, it is clone only?
