Is root rot and reservoir stank "a thing" in coco?

I said it doesn't mean that we don't have 100s to the guy chirping about his weak 100 pounds per year yields I didn't say we had them . That was the plan for the next stage though after proving the system. We have 6 and one drying right now.
So you have 576 sqft of grow space total atm. Ok I want to know this system setup

I will be the one to answer your question as it’s just got full up of dick swinging lol.

Ideally you shouldn’t run coco recirculating unless you plan to constantly monitor the levels of every nutrient coming back to the reservoir.

the reason being is that coco can and does hold onto certain nutrient elements, binding of Ca and releasing back K for example.

So your recirculating return solution could be out of Ca and have too much K for the next feed.

My honest advice would be to run it DTW and make some adjustments for removal of the drain solution or use a DTW at lower EC and run it similar to a BLUMATS system where you don’t get very much of any runoff out of the bottom.

If you want to continue with the recirculating then rethink your medium choice.

you could recirculate using stone wool aka rockwool with hydro rocks aka clay pebbles aka hydroton balls.

Due to the way that coco’s CEC responds and how the coco (although dubbed as inert) can bind certain nutrients and release others it’s not going to be the best choice in this instance.

PA hydroponics on YouTube has some good videos about creating some fallponic systems utilising RDWC setups with a reservoir outside the system and pumps etc fitted inline to reduce heat inside the reservoir to keep temps cooler through the RDWC system overall.
Thanks for the detailed answer. I'm going to stick with DTW like you said and just work on dialing it in better. It was actually going reasonably well when I was running in smaller pots, but I got stuck with just one clone when I normally grow four. So I grew one giant plant in a giant pot. Suddenly my runoff EC is rising and the tips are burning. Then I did the mildest flush (not even a flush, really) and the whole plant started showing mild deficiencies. Then I started thinking that recirculating would at least get rid of the momentum of the coco. I know the more obvious solution is to just go back to smaller pots next run, but it's always tempting to get away from hand watering.

Thanks again.

Let me guess , you heavily rely on boveda humidity packs for your Curing SOP too?
I do use boveda packs yes. I do use buckers and trimmers as it’s more cost effective and they still come out nice. I’m not paying 12+ ppl 150 bucks a. Lbs to trim. So i was referring to the gear used to control the grow. Trolmaster, rhythm, titan controllers, quest or anden dehumidifiers and sizes. I can tell you I run quest 506’s in every room, 15 tons of ac per room using York air handlers, trolmaster hcs1 for each room everything integrated into the main head unit. Carbon x tied into my fire control panel. co2 setup with 375 lbs co2 tank per room. Drying room is running a 5 ton mini split with a quest 506. medical grade 10k gpd ro system that puts out 5 gpm of pure ro water. Orbit actuators in each line and controller. Quick disconnects in each room to connect the tables to flood and all done via Bluetooth. That’s just some of my build. this is the information I was referring to.

Run the coco via blumats and reduce your ec going in to around .6 or something and see how they feed. if they feed harder increase SLOWLY and see where the sweet spot is less is more

Haven’t we determined yet this kid is a joke by the tent grow and un ripe weed he posted then quickly deleted?

Yup , small plants and High plant count. originally trying to do SOG which is next to Impossible with open beds for roots to keep growing. and lights so weak that they spend the first 3 weeks of flower stretching. I flipped plants at 3 inches to try and they stretching almost into the lights in 3 weeks.
You flipped 3 inches away from a 315 cmh and it stretched that much?? aint no way.

check my threads from my profile page and you should get some good ideas for auto irrigation.

Wow!

So he stated this was years ago he ran that facility, kids 30 years old now. What facility would hire a “master grower” I’m their mid 20’s I wonder?
Well, I styled myself as a master grower back when I was 23 and running 4-6 plants in a closet under a single 400W HPS. In a rented apartment with zero odor control too. God that was fun but incredibly stupid.

Age brings experience though. Good thing there were no weed growing forums or even digital cameras back then. I’d have cried myself to sleep from this type of abuse if I’d come on a forum all strong bragging about my master grower credentials and posting shitty grow pics. (I post shitty outdoor grow pics now but old skin is thicker).

I kinda tried to help last night after a couple of beers in his yield thread but don’t think there’s any helping this young man.

@Lordhooha and @bk78 - you dudes kill and it reading about your grows is always fun. Perhaps @Tuda51 will get there one day when he grows up a little.
