This is my 1st grow and is outdoors. I am close to harvest and just noticed this brown area near the top of the plant. There is no white fluff or yellow leaves anywhere on the plant. I am hoping it’s just the pistils any help would be appreciated.

I tried pulling the sugar leaves and they don’t come out easily
It’s hard to see mycelia. Would look like very fine hairs. The second pics looks like there is some botrytis fuzz in it. I’ve never had to deal with that thankfully. I guess I’d cutout the bad area Or even the whole cola and hit the whole area with h2o2.

Have you found any catapillars I would look close I had the same problem they were eating the colas I used this
Wouldnt there be any prior warning signs with catapillars? Or does it get this bad before u notice .. Like white spots for mites etc
Iv never done outdoor so new to me im just curious

I haven’t seen anything else wrong. I noticed the caterpillar while looking at the trichcomes through a Jewlers loupe . The next day I found a second one right on the top bud. I look every day now and haven’t found another.

No prior signs. If the caterpillars go unnoticed then this is what you get in the OP's post pix.
