Is this cfl ok to be this close?

Hold your hand under it palm down. Start at the height of the top leaves, and move up slowly until it's uncomfortable, but stop before it hurts. That's too close. Anything further than that should be okay until you get too far away.

Ok mate thanks, should be ok where it is then. You think my plant will appreciate this new light after been on a 100w LED all its life with little to no heat?

It's a bit of a conundrum lol I'd expect the Led to be brightest most powerful but obviously the cfl gives out more heat.
The plant looks fine considering I'm sure the heat will be appreciated but it's actually the roots that need heat more than the vegitation, a small heat matt would help.

From what I can see it's not to close a cfl can almost sit on the plants but if you follow Jtg advice post #2 to be certain.
All the best with your grow!

Depends on the LED really. It should do fine under that light though. I used to veg under fluorescent lights.
I think you posted earlier and it was under a blurple? Or am I mixing you up with someone else?

Yeah that’s right I originally started with a 50w led blurple and then upgraded to a 100w but this was me been under knowledged and not researching enough. The first light was stated at 300w actual output 50w and other 600/100 lol so finally I’ve gone to a proper grow shop instead of Amazon and got a 250w cfl. Just hoping this light is gonna give the plant what it needs and I also purchased the old timer plant magic (grow). She or he has been through a bad start but hoping I can turn it around now. The cfl gives off a lot more heat I’ve noticed so just waiting for the temp gauge and humidity gauge to come now. So glad I didn’t buy the hps tho as I would of fried it in this cupboard haha

CFL has a much better spectrum for veg than any blurple. I got an sf1000 from spider farmer for Christmas (actually it's supposed to be out for delivery right now). It's 100w draw from the wall, but quantum board style.
If you want to see what 100w of proper LEDs can do you should check out these threads.

I would add the 100w LED too as that CFL has a lot of wasted light
