and my right not to vote, who to vote for and wether to vote at all.

hence why even in my well rounded corner of the world... Freedom is a heavily debated topic.

I think that's what Canna was implying (at least, that's how I read it).
However, how does one impose solitary confinement on something such as al-Nusra? Is Syria, for the moment, not a form of separation and isolation of these life destroyers ?

What began as a social uprising has become a petri dish or osmotic chamber where all of these negative elements are attracted, trapped and studied.

It reminds me of something Richard Daley said, I believe in the wake of the 1968 Chicago Democratic convention riots:
Gentlemen, get the thing straight once and for all– the policeman isn't there to create disorder, the policeman is there to preserve disorder.

So... when do these regime-changing, American missiles start flying? There's some disorder in need of preservation!!!

It is a drug ring in fact, this Jihad, it is also soaked in oil money as are the cartels. So, just think of a Cartel. The Zeta.

Now, machete death and taking heads is already happening. Brutalization of men women and kids at every level. Hand the 14 year old a gun and tell him who murdered his parents, and now you have an enforcer that you only make promises to. Someday revenge.

So, strip out religion and royalty in Syria, and what do you have? Gangland.

So, this example is not because it is on our border, but to equate it to something familiar, bad, and powerful, the Zeta.

So, let us say, if the convention changed in world opinion, such that both Zeta and the Mexican govt could see that if they keep it down to mortar shells it is perfectly fine to use poison gas.

And if that WMD is perfectly fine, then why not the artillery size tactical nuke.

And even that could be OK, by a big stretch. But, there still exists, the sub-planet busters, 100 mT Bomba size.

And there are officially now, 16 space-faring nations, including Vietnam.

So, we could wipe this planet from space. The only thing stopping that is international convention.

We dearly want the international conventions to hold, don't we? That is what must be preserved. Not individual lives that come and go, but, this is a very high level appreciation of the emotion to wipe the world for the glory of God. Madness.

Preserve us from Madness.

It's a rare thing these days... Gone are the days of true investigative journalism, while you can still find reporters/journalists that follow real stories they're few and far between... The other issue is with a sinking news print sector, some places just don't want to spend the cash sending people in search of stories...

Why would it matter? Waiting until a tragedy happens until you prepare for the next one, is stupid.

What I think is funny, you liberals don't use the same logic with global climate warming chilling scare tactics.
