You must really enjoy being in that room OF. I would
Okay...there is one secret, and it's this: the room also serves as my man-cave of solace away from the wife and kid!

Don't worry, she'll smack me in the morning for telling the world that. :bigjoint:

Congrats on Your grow, Old frog. Looks good.
Sorry, didnt have time to browse through Your thread, but I have a quick question - what are those white tubes in the last picture right at the back?

No doubt You are doing a great job.

Thanks for stopping by, dsn. The tubes are pvc piping for the trellis frame. I'm going to put a top on the support structure after the third trellis tier is laid on the plants.

Hey Old Frog

I have a question. Maybe a stupid one, but I'm pretty high so that's my excuse if I need one, and I'll be sticking to it.

I can't work out how you will get the clones that you have in your aero cloner into the rw cubes for the next grow?
Dont they suffer root damage in the process, or are they not going into rw next time round?

BayArea and Lionsroor, thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate the kind words.

Mammath, that's a good question I had to trouble shoot this last time around, and severely shocked my plants in the process. When I started this current grow I transplanted straight into RW cubes from aero clone and almost killed everything in 48 hours. I started a thread begging for help at the beginning of February.

Long story short by the end of transplanting into the second tray I'd mastered the slightly moist balance needed in the Gro-dan croutons and the conditioned RW 6" cubes.

Winkdogg's right too, and sometimes I wish I could do it that easily, but I went and made things complicated with the aerocloner and that's the way it's gonna remain for at least a bit longer...

At what stage is the root growth when you move to the rockwool? I have had excellent results rooting cuts from the aero cloner in coco - but I take em just as the primordia (I may be bunking that word right now) - or little starter white bumps of root growth - have developed - several days before any actual roots... just wondered how exactly you were going into the rockwool from the aerocloner? I always have leftover cuts using the aerocloner with its 100% success rate - but people want clones in rockwool - so I would love to find a bulletproof way to do such a thing... though I enjoy the tedious struggle of rooting in rockwool too!

Ever try Coco? It's the ultimate crossover medium. I know one or two old school soil growers that love the coco after giving it a try... Just throwin it out there for fun - I'm sure you got your soil routine down! I wish I could grow outdoors!

I just like soil for the simplicity..with trays under the pots watering is a breeze and i think the soil grown herbs just taste more like old school "pot" to me:)

Wink, I agree with you on the taste thing. Could be complete superstition, but whatever. I go completely organic in soil, despite the hit in yield it takes.

Gonna have to one of these days. Right now I use Aurora Innovations Roots Organic Mix.

Initially it was too early on, only a few days after first signs of rooting. Now I want them to have at least four inches of roots coming off of them in the aerocloner before going into the 6" RW cubes, with RW croutons used to lightly pack the plants in the precut 2" holes on the top of the RW cubes.

Yeah, I think so. Haven't ever gone from RW to RW though. Usually with the aerocloner I went straight into soil, so the RW was a new experience. I've cloned in RW 1.5" cubes before but that was also to go straight into soil. Rapid Rooter dome before the cloner. Perlite in a cooler before the rapid rooter.

Anyway, put the third tier of the trellis up tonight and capped the pvc frame off. A lot more stable now!

Gambler, I'm gonna lower a few of those 600s tomorrow night. You're definitely right though, cool tubes would be a sensible upgrade. What about the Magnum XXXL though? six of those with a 600cfm should let me drop the lights almost on top of the plants throughout. :eyesmoke:
