So, since I am using Jacks, should I just not use any epsom salt? 2.5 Jacks:2 Cal Nit:0 epsom:0.5 mpk?
 
is it for sure "jacks pro"? and not jacks classic or something like that?

mixing it that way will give you a hot mix that you can dilute to your desired EC/PPM

its a versatile ratio of NPK that could be used from start of bloom until finished without changing it

you could mix it the same way and just eliminate the mkp for veg

if you want to leach N in late bloom (some do, I do not) you can drop the calcium nitrate down to 1.5 grams per gallon and keep the rest as is

Exactly. Im about 4 weeks into flower and have been using the same 3-2-1 ratio (18 grams of Jacks, 12 grams cal nit, and 6 grams epsom per 5 gallons of water) since they were seedlings so figured I would look into modifying the nutes to better match the flowering requirements. Yes, my mix is on the hot side but the plants have no burn and look great. I just mixed up some 2.5-2-0-0.5(mpk) and put in in the reservoir.

Also, an fyi in case it matters: I am growing in coco/perlite at 2:1 ratio, auto watering with blumats and only get runoff when a random blumat messes up and floods a plant. This is my first time using coco, blumats, or Jack's but it has been working out pretty nice. I have an air pump with 2 stones in my 13 gallon reservoir to keep the nutes mixing continuously so hopefully no precipitate to plug my blumats. These plants are in a 5x5 with about 1000 true watts (measured AFTER the power supplies) of led strips -- ~620 watts over head and ~360 watts of side lighting.
 
I’m trying jacks. I have one girl in an experimental “passive plant killer” method and the rest in my regular coco pots.

One of my girls is an oddball accidental cross breed of gg4 and bubba kush- could be interesting but what a light feeder! I fed her in veg so light most plants wudda starved she exploded! First feed w jacks got nitrogen claw on her- the other two gg4 look spot on perfect- she’s looking better already with a water only watering going to do a light flush nothing drastic.

I’m wondering would you guys say back off the calnit or just dilute the standard 3:2 mix down equally? I will start 321 next feed.

the jacks is also good

either is fine

the jacks is higher in Mg and doesn't require Epsom like he said....

but both are excellent choices
 
I'm too lazy to scan through the posts, but what is the recommended strength for the all purpose and bloom booster? I alternate between the two every watering. The strength I mix is 1 teaspoon per gallon.

Thank you!!’ I’m pretty excited to try this. Anything else you’d recommend to help bud density? I’m using 700 watts of COBs with 1100 ppm of CO2. Lowred it after I was told 1400-1500 was too much... Also, about what EC do you recommend running. I’m using RO thanks to crappy water.

In veg I usually work my way up to a 1.7-1.9 EC and after a couple week of flower I need less. It's really subjective to strain and growing style and room environment. I always check EC at least once a day to see if it rises or drops. If it drops I know they need more if it rises I know I gotta back off.

I have 960W (3 320w supplies) total but I have them turned down on a 4x4 tray as my ladies at 18”-20” went into a light shock when I cranked them up...

Makes sense to watch the EC. I’ll give that a go! I hope the 4-20 formula works well for bud density as my last try they seemed a little airy.
 
New grower here. I've tried to read through the entire thread but it just got me more confused!

My plan is to use Pro Mix HP as my medium..

Would i be wrong to use 1/4 tsp / Gal of Jack's Classic All Purpose (20-20-20) in veg and work my way up to no more than 1 tsp / Gal depending on what the plants need?

Then switch to Jack's Bloom Booster in flower?

Would I be better off using Jack's Citrus from start to finish? I'm looking to keep things as simple as possible..

I plan to try using plain tap water (slightly hard). Will i need to add calcium or epsom slats? I guess this depends on what the plants tell me they need and what's in my water.

i grow with jack's in pro mix. i used the 20-20-20 to begin with, but it seems to be too much P, so i switched to citrus for most of the run, just use the bloom booster as a pk boost when they stop stretching for 2 weeks, then go back to citrus to finish up.
i'm not sure about your measurements, i use a ppm pen, i give them 300 ppm in veg, 500 ppm till the stretch is through, 500-800 ppm for the two weeks of pk boosting, then start tapering off, dropping 50 to 100 ppm each feeding till i'm down to 200 ppm, and stay there till they're done.
you will definitely have to add calcium, as Jack's has none. it interferes with sulfur, which jack's has plenty of.
you can either give them some calcium nitrate from time to time, add a lot of cal-mag, or buy a bottle of yield booster, which is a calcium spray for tomatoes, but works great on weed.
