Im planning on only making oil with Yum so I dont think we're going to flush it since the thc will be extracted from the plant but, in my experience, non flushed plants definitely have a harsher taste and a 'crispy' burn to them. but you're a pro so now im confused. Ill save a nug or 2 of yum to smoke on and see how it smokes. thanks

i dont see how flushing exrracts THC from the plant.
also i dont see how the chemicals you use to fertilize are left in the plant if you dont flush. if you were smoking the stems maybe but by the time them chemicals make it to where they get processed to turn into plant matter, they become plant matter.....right?

Yea its really a personal preferance when it comes to flushing, some say its good to leach out all salts and chemicals and some say it starves the plant in its most vital stage of putting on size. I've personally tried it both ways and from my experience it all comes down to proper drying and curing with no noticeable difference to me yet. I'm not the only one that thinks this, search around a little and you will see. I can't speak from experience in hydro yet but in soil I don't sweat flushing, If I can I will "leech" the salts at the very end but this should be done every couple weeks at least anyway through the whole grow cycle.

There has to be something to flushing right? I've had and can taste chemicals in some bud once and a while. Its disgusting. I always assumed it was because no flush was performed. Maybe they foliar fed the buds or some stupid shit, but i get like two bags a month I can taste the shit in. I don't think an improper dry/cure would make it taste like it does.....its for sure a chemical taste, burns black, sometimes it numbs my mouth a little even....kinda fucked up. Could that taste come from anything else other than the plant not being flushed?

pesticides probally that like you said are sprayed onto the bud themselvs. some big growers dont care what the end product is and if it is full of chemicals, they are in it to line thier pockets and if a pesky critter (like bud worms) is eating at thier product they will spray to kill them.

I was saying that I wont be smoking the buds of yumbolt, just extracting the thc off the plant matter with butane and making BHO with it. since the chemicals are left in the plant matter, it doesnt need a flush (personal preference)
I am, however, flushing the other plants because I believe a lack of flush will make the bud more prone to a shitty burn and taste. the cure has a lot to do with it, and since im not a pro at any of this, ESPECIALLY curing, im trying to start with the cleanest slate possible.
honestly I didnt read anything past this as im in a rush to the denist for some emergency surgery but I assume its all some discussion about flushing. I hope its civil and intellectual and I look forward to catching up after Im all fixed up and on some pain pills.
