Jerry's Perpetually Organic Garden

Thanks...I'm not yet using the smart pots so I don't know which ones you are referring to.

Thanks Jozi, I've been getting pretty good at the LST thing by just trial and error. I've really discovered you need to conceptualize how you want the plant to look vs. how it looks while you're training. Also starting early and using paperclips has really helped me get the shape I'm looking for. Some strains respond more readily than others, but it can be done with them all.

It takes a fair bit of adjusting during the early stages, but once in flower they are pretty much set how I want and I can pretty much leave them alone.

Thanks dude, I've noticed the same things actually. It's all about me applying it. Now that I am around my garden more days out of the week than ever, it has become really easy lately. My new SFV's and Strawberry Coughs look great. I'm giving this Starwberry Cough one more chance to dazzle me.

Took out a few plants this morning to water, had my camera handy so I snapped a few photos.

Cali Connect Sour Diesel #4. A bit on the tall and stretchy side, but looking like she will fill in alright.

Sharksbreath. These pics are awful, I apologize. Early indications are she is going to stay squat and form large chunks of bud.

Reserva Privada Sour Diesel #2. Doing well.

Cali Connect Sour Diesel #6. A bit thirsty (which is why she was out to get water) but probably the nicest looking of the 4 RPSD. They all look really similar, but at the moment I give the edge to #6.

Finally, my crown jewel of the moment, Cali Connect Sour Diesel #1. Already forming long, full colas with a heavy coating of trichomes. Reminds me of the NYC Diesel in structure, which is a very good thing.

those sour diesels look so freakin delicious, ive never had the opportunity to try that strain. whats it like?

I've only had some Sour D I got through a friend, but it was some of the tastiest bud I've ever had. Hard to describe, other than a diesel fuel taste that lingers in your mouth for a while after you hit it. So hopefully my stuff is similar because that taste is what I'm looking for.

I realized I haven't photographed these in a while. So I atone with these. :peace:

Amnesia Lemon. Should have 1 or 2 more colas, but I accidentally burnt them with the heater a while back. Smells similar to my LSD and has a similar structure...I wouldn't be surprised if they are related. Good stuff though, heady sativa-type high that is great for being functional.

Next, Reserva Privada OG Kush. Not going to win any yield awards this time around, b...I let it get a bit too tall...but it has produced large numbers for me in the past with longer veg, and better training. Some of my favorite smoke though: great taste, great high, awesome smell...all around a true winner.

Hey jerry I don't wanna hijack the thread but have you ever had a hermie that only affected a few buds vs an entire crop? I pulled a bud off yesterday and it maybe had 6 seeds so I checked arfound couldn't find any male parts so I pulled off a bud from a different plant but literally 8 inches away same height and everything and no seeds, I pulled off the one adjacent to the seeded one it had seeds, I looked around at some more buds and couldn't find any seeds, do you have any insight you could provide? What's are the odds ill have a few seeds vs all seeded buds??

1Luv Stay True

I decided I had too many plants, so I culled a few over the past couple days. The NYC Diesel Tahoe OG came out of the tent, while the others that came down were the Blue Widow, 1 Sour Hazy Jones, 1 Deadhead OG, both Jamaican Me Crazy and all my Reserva Privada Sour Diesel clones. All plants remaining in my garden are depicted in the following images.

I acquired a couple 5 gal Smart pots and transplanted a Grape Stomper x OG and Sour Hazy Jones into them. Unfortunately, only 1 pot came with handles (with Grape Stomper x OG #1), so I did a bit of quick improvising and made handles for the other one (with the Sour Hazy Jones #2...Left) I'm not sure either is a female, but here's to hoping!

Finally, here are the remaining plants under the 400w MH: Deadhead OG, Sour Hazy Jones, and GSxOG in the 3 large white pots on the left, Deadhead OG in the medium white pot on the right, and GSxOG #3 in the small black pot. I think the GSxOG #3 is a male, so I'm keeping it around in a small black pot for pollen.

On a side note, I had my first ever run-in with Spider Mites this past week. I started noticing them on my strawberries and tomatoes outside, then they were covering my patio table and chairs (in the back yard...don't have a patio) and within a couple days they made their way into my grow rooms. They were definitely living on my plants, but didn't appear to be doing any real harm.

Then I started finding them crawling around my desk and walls, and decided to take action. I acquired some PyGanic EC 1.4 for $50 from my hydro store. The main ingredient, Pyrethrins, are derived from Chrysanthemums and are OMRI certified. I looked at a couple other Pyrethrin products, like Don't Bug Me, but the concentration of Pyrethrins was 0.02%, in addition to containing an enzymatic neurotoxin that probably shouldn't be ingested by humans. While the other products were considerably cheaper (~$20) the guy working said he'd had great results with the PyGanic, and being the only truly organic option I went for it.

After mixing up a concentration of 8ml/gal, I sprayed the younger indoor plante (cannabis) on the tops and bottoms of the leaves, and only a couple younger plants in tent (Sharksbreath, NYCD before culling). The others are pretty far into flower so I didn't want to spray them. I then went outside and sprayed everything ...strawberries and tomatoes, as well as the chairs, tables, stairs, railings, exterior walls, basically anywhere I saw them crawling, which was everywhere. Within a day they stopped appearing inside, and remarkably they have vanished from outside as well. I acquired a spray tank thingy that goes on the end of a hose, which I planned on filling with PyGanic and using on the entire yard, but they are literally GONE after the first application. And they were pretty heavily infesting everything out there.

This stuff works. Period. :peace:

Awesome update Jerry. Never had spider mites, glad your solution worked so well. You'll love the smart pots; I use 5 gal smart pots and 3 gallon buckets...smart pots allow excellent air penetration, never worry about over-watering.

Nice work, nice pics, nice update, per usual!
