HippySmoke:
First of all MMJ Industry is a term that is widely used. And second I have never grown for profit, only made enough to cover expenses. Finally there is nothing wrong with wanting to make money doing what you love to do, people do it all the time! Do not assume you know me by reading one post!!
Industry in your connotation insinuates a paid position as in profit. And no there is nothing wrong with making money doing what you love provided it's not illegal or immoral. I am not trying to impose my morality, which is don't be Glaxo Smith & Kline and don't tax the sick on a medication, a big part of why I feel so livid about 90% of dispensaries. But you came to a MEDICAL sub-forum not toke and talk or the black briefcase, get what I am digging at here?
I apologize if I seem condescending or jaded but from the way you phrased things; it rather sounded like those folks you used to see on the news from denver when they first went medically legal. Everyone was selling pot under the medical guise but it was an excuse plain an simple.
But I will rephrase then...
Here in Washington we don't really have a paying MEDICAL marijuana industry it is illegal to sell MEDICAL cannabis for anything more than recapping expenses. In december of 2013 their are plans for a legitimate cannabis industry for recreational use but as of now the framework for the system is still being built.
Once again I apologize for being condescending, but I personally at least am defensive of the medical concept of cannabis. And the concept of someone from out of state coming up here just to make money off of sick people.... well it sure put things on the wrong note to begin with. What if I told you I want to move to your state and try to make money off the sick? That is kinda how your introduction to the concept came out... least personally.
I hope our future relations are less tenuous, but please don't ask about the "industry" as you put it like it is something for money. I am as capitalist as the next guy but I have seen too many people claim to be all about aiding other's quality of life when in fact they wanted to use our laws to make money.
Not to say you are doing that or intend to... but the way you phrased your introduction it just don't sound right... as I said anyone really about the medicine sure ain't making
much money off it...
That being said, I'll seeya around. And good luck with whatever direction ya head for.
