Well they are definitely female, The current care taker didn't keep the lights low enough so there is a little stretching but it looks like the plants have stopped growing up and are starting to widen a bit. Temps are 88 degrees. Was forced to top the one in the back, it grew into the lights and was crispy. The rest of the plant is growing just fine. shit happens.. I fed the twins their first taste of flowering nutrients. They are doing very well. Caregiver is giving them filtered water during the week and im handling the actual grow.

Ok enough of that here is a couple of pics. more pics next week, this week was kinda busy so i just snapped two pics then closed it back up.

I think they are going to be fine, the one in front is already starting to do its thing.
Doesnt smell like weed, but gives off a strong "plant" smell when you open the cabinet up.

Plant smell is still strong, but no weed smell as of yet. Plants have slightly outgrown the cabinet. I did some creative moving but everything is coming along fine.

check this one out

The 2010 smurf report

Sorry this update is way late, was busy this weekend. The girls are doing wonderfully, I couldn't be more pleased given the cabinet i use. I ordered some short riders from nirvana so my buddy can experience them.

the girls grew a bit taller than i would have liked, but besides that they are sweet. I took another leaf shot to show how much the girls love their nutrients. I'm a true believer in Gh flora series.

I know right, Waiting is the hardest part. I wont make the mistake i made with my first plants, I am waiting for 50/50 this time for sure.
Im giving them a month to fatten up. No further height has been seen, so just letting the buds grow and join together. They drink tons of water, up to two gallons a week but not a lot of nutrients. Ive kept them at 1700ppm and haven't seen any evidence of over feeding. Ive only fed them three times in the whole grow. I measure out the nutrients with a syringe and a meter.

It's so easy to over feed MJ, i use a little higher strength solution based on my experience with dwc growing. I plan to flush the plants and run water the last couple of weeks. that takes care of any chemical taste that might be present in the final dried product.

Anyways, time to bongsmilie

Hey gang,

Fridays update got blown off because i was out of town. So im posting today instead, The gi s are growing well and we got a chance to try out a sample bud that had been somehow damaged and it was almost dry on the stem. The heads are still milky but i have to say i havent been that stoned in a long time. I took two hits and was STONED. all talkative and shit. Shared the experience with my buddy and he got the same effects. We are daily smokers so it came as a shock and a wonderful suprise.

Anyways, On to the pics!

Looks good man, but it looks like you have to much N in your plants. The curled, brown leaves and those dark green leaves look suspect. Thats just what I think! Keep it up though!

I certainly do not know everything about this hobby, i appreciate you letting me know. I was thinking of flushing the plants. I would do a water change by draining the res and refilling it. Let them grow for 5 days with only water additions.

The smurf report

Our back plant is ready for the chop. Its dying back and already pulled one bud off. Milky and amber observed. It will not be a bumper crop or anything but what buds there are will be nice. I will be flushing the plants using a product from general hydroponics called flush kleen or something close to that. it says it works and is safe for living plants. I will have the care giver add the solution to the res wensday then i will change the water that friday and let the front plant go another week.

I plan to germinate some femmed short riders later this week. I am going to try and sneak in a grow before xmas. I don't know that i will be finished then but should be close.

I've been talking with the caregiver and hes thinking the girls need to be chopped this week. Once i go over there and take a look at the trichomes, then i can decide on if they both need to go. The back plant is going to be chopped for sure friday. Ive given instructions on how to flush the plants so that will be started today.

Ive already got a couple beans wet, Waiting for them to crack. I will plant them Friday and start a new journal.

No worries, i will take a bunch of pictures Friday.

Yup by only being able to see them once a week, it made the time fly by.

If the smoke is anything like the samples, i will be pleased. We didnt get a huge yield off these plants, I found out they are not indica like i thought they were. Heh i just assumed they were since they were listed as short plants. They slightly overgrew my space. Didnt form a thick cola like the short rider did. its taller and skinny compared to the short rider.

Another successful grow under my belt. I learned alot from this grow. I was impressed the two beans i germinated turned out to be female. 2 out of 2 is sweet. Femmed beans are the way to grow. I dont use bag seed because the quality of the weed has sucked lately. Thats why i grow, to supply myself quality herb.
