Hey Y'all

I did another scope test on the main cola, I believe i will be taking that part of her first since its developing faster than the smaller buds. I will give the plant another week. That will be 44 days and im believing the main cola will be ready by then. I can then drop the lights and finish off the smaller buds. I know they wont get any larger, but i want them to be amber too.

thanks a bunch guys for the encouragement, I couldn't be more pleased for my first grow. I have learned so much, and thanks to y'all i keep learning daily.

this cannabis has got a strange smell. second day of curing the little bud and the green smell underneath is present. Nirvana says they are "strong, skunky buds" but that doesnt quite cover it. it certainly does not smell like weed. it has a smell that i enjoy, my wife who doesnt smoke found them to be more stinky but she says it doesn't smell like weed.

Im attempting to "cure the green out" by having the small buds in a glass jar in the dark. I open them several times a day to release the chlorophyll. I am hoping something like a cannabis taste and smell will come after a week or two in the jar.

I am not complaining, but i want all the taste and smell i can get out of this plant.

She's developing quickly. Ive been adding a gallon of water every 2 days. no nutrients as its close to chop time for the main cola. I will continue my daily watch and im extending this grow by another week.

this waiting for the trichs to change to amber sucks, i hope were not missing something.

I know that's right. I keep telling myself it will be worth it and to keep waiting. the last dro i smoked had milky only and i didnt care for the buzz. it was good, but not what i was looking for.

I really cannot bitch to much though. im flowering at 41 days and getting really close to chop. This Short rider Auto has been a sweet plant to learn from. I wont yield much from this one plant, But now i have skills i didn't before. that makes up for the small yield.

I got to thinking, since i have no hope of containing the smell, I better stick to neutral smelling plants. I ordered some new beans from nirvana Blue Mystic feminized + autoflower. They are neutral like norther lights, and slightly berry like.

i was happy to see them get more auto-strains, i think if i order seeds sometime in the future it would be those.

Im excited about the new autos too. IF this short rider plant ever goes amber hehe

Well its day 42 of flowering, tests still show the main cola is ahead of the smaller bud sites. I highly doubt nirvana's advice that this plant will finish in two days.

smoke report

I have been storing the little bud in a air tight mason jar in the dark. Its starting to develop a nice taste, very faint though. doesnt stink or smell up the place when smoked. It's good weed. I am glad i waited to chop though. I will post more as it ages.

Hoe many time does your microscope magnifies? My Short Rider was 52 days flowering, now I'm drying all the buds inside the pc grow case with the lights turn off and the fans in the minimum power level. Check my grow journal and see how are my trichms to compare. I agree with you when you said that this weed doesn't have a weed smell but is very pleasant. I only have chance to taste a little half wet sample, wasn't the best but I enjoyed! Lets wait the bud dries and cure so the final smoke report!

My little usb scope does 200x, definitely waiting until the final cure is done before i give a final smoke report.
52 days seems a bit more likely for my grow as well. Im giving her at least another week at minimum. shes 42 days in

Do u think hid"s would have helped them finish when the seedbank said they would? Do you think heat played a factor in the longer flower time? Just curious...

I totally blame the heat for the extra time needed to finish this plant. almost constant 88 degrees im shocked anything grew haha

the seedbank says the Short Rider is a cross between Top 44 and Early Special don´t say it flower time is 44 days. I think u need to magnify more the samples and don't take pics from leafs but take it from buds. the trichms probably are burned by heat so they can have the amber color.
