Was trimming at the time listening to it. from what little I got from it was they are trying to get utility (power company ) and states with legal grow both personal a commercial help inform ,regulate along with rebates( rebate for purchasing lighting)(Vermont I think was stated) to growers . I have to watch again it . There is a part stating to be compliment your lighting fixture have to have meet some efficiency. Sound like they're going to regulate out hps/mh??. Again have to watch over more attentive.

HPS/MH is still putting out more light watt for watt than cheap led boards. You have to dish out crazy money to get an LED that puts out more light per watt than a double ended 1000w hps.

You have literally no idea what you're saying. You mean cost of start up for total wattage output costs less? Sure. But the boards from China now are 240watts of LM301Bs and 660reds for $100. WITH THE DRIVER AND HEATSINKS. So being it's still more upfront, the 40-60% savings in electrical, especially on a bigger scale can pay that difference in literally a single year.

Im saying double ended hps is more efficient than cheap LED boards. Look at what commercial growers are running. Their electric bills are insane if LED was really more efficient, they would be changing to it.

Holy Fuck man... I'm not even gonna try to argue this if you think HID of ANY kind is more efficient than even cheap blurples, you're wrong.
People use HID in commercial grows because it's a much lower cost to buy the 40 DE ballasts and hoods they need at wholesale than to buy LED lights even at wholesale
Chinese lights although FAR more efficient than DeHPS, are not UL Listed sometimes and never certified, so they can't be used in grows like that. And to buy fixtures that ARE APPROVED, Cost $800-2000 each. Even at wholesale, it's still just too much of a START UP COST. Get it?

Did you even watch the video? Top LED is better than 50% more efficient.
