My soil was good and dry this morning so I gave everyone a good watering. I water untill I see liquid start to come outta the bottom of the pots then stop. I wait till the soil dries out before watering again. I always adjust the ph of my sollution before watering so I know the ph is correct. The miricle grow soil already has nutes in it so I only add half of the recommended dose of Botanicare's Pro Grow and half a TBSP of molasses per gallon of water. Can anyone tell me why my leaves are curling in such a gnarly manner? They are curling up and twisting around pretty wildly and I have no idea why or what to do about it.

These 2 guys are my White Widows. You can see the curling in the one in the back, however the WW in the front is the only one of my plants not displaying any curling of the leaves.

There is nothing fancy about the soil I'm using. Miracle Grow with Micromax nutes already in the soil. On top of that I'm using Botanicare's Pro Grow and a lil molasses. It's not over-watering cause I let my soil get dry before watering. I started my LST a couple days ago and the leaves seem confused. They are twisting and turning every which away with the shoots from underneath now fighting to pop their heads out so they can become tops themselves. They are doing a good job of finding their way to the light and the leaves are nice and green but they are dry and kinda crispy. Maybe I'm not watering them enough? I'll have some new pics up today and you will be able to better see what I'm talking about. Anyone with advice please chime in. +rep for stopping by John!
Over watering can be many things how often or HOW MUCH YOU WATER. Your giving them to much at once. The only other suggestion i would have is to get those things in a bigger pot 5 gal is best, but it doesn't look root bound yet. Have you checked humidity levels, if humidity is to high plants will do this, how close are your lights? And thanks for the rep

That's what I'm looking for right there! I am still a work in progress. This is just my fourth grow and some variables are different this time around. I'm continually learning as I go here. My best grow to date was my last one (#3) and I used MG soil and no nutes whatsoever from seed to harvest. I only added the Black Magic during flower but still no nutes. The plant did great. Awesome smoke. My biggest issue with it was stretching and most of that was my fault too. I'm definately removing the nutes then. Back to just purified water. Should I still add the molasses? This is my first time using it. I also planned on adding a DIY Co2 Gen in there today. Is that a good idea? There is tons of air circulation in the closet. I keep the door wide open at all times for now with a box fan steady blowing directly in the doorway at them. There is also an A/C supply vent in the closet and I keep my house at 72 degrees. There is another small fan sitting inside the 6" flange on the reflector steady blowing air across the bulb. That is a piece of ductboard across the closet. One side is metallic so I use it as a light reflector.

Are you watering with cold water, or room temp? Stop molasses until you are flowering. 1 teaspoon per gallon is the most i would go. And co2 go real low at first and i would start for another couple of weeks. How many watts is that light, it looks to close for a HPS or Metal Halide. 12-18 inches, feel the canopy at the top of your plant does it warm your hand uncomfortably? If so back off with the light. you shuold back down to 18/6 if you 24/0 to

My humidity level is only 50%. I control that. The light is about 16" from the top of the biggest plant (thats the gnarly KK) and the temp at the top of its canopy is only 79 degrees. MY light is a lumatek dimmable 1000watter (I just bought it for this grow) and it has been dimmed down to 600watts since it got turned on. It's an hps bulb enhanced in the blue spectrum.

Im gonna go out and say to much molasses water and nutes. Weed is well its a weed and grows like one, it doesn't need much water at all if you think about where it grows mostly in deserts mountain sides where the water runs right off, back off watering so much at once, no more molasses and please no more nutes for a good 3 weeks. Your plant will thank you. And that humidity is a little low i think it should be around 75 percent no? Put a bowl of water near your plant or start spraying the leaves with just water instead of watering so much

I'd give you more rep but it won't let me. I'm at 24/0 now. If I switch it to 18/6 does it have to be 100% blackout during the off 6 hours like in flowering? Like if I get up in the middle of the night to pee and i turn the bathroom light on with the closet door open is it gonna freak the plants out in veg like it will in flower?

Probably not. you should put a green light in your bathroom the spectrum on a standard green bulb will not disturb her sleep.

Also, when I say Co2 Gen what I mean is a 2 liter pepsi bottle with sugar, yeast and water. Is that an acceptable method of adding Co2 to ur grow? With all the open air circulation thats in the room now I wondered if it would even do any good or if it would all just get circulated outta the room as fast as it is produced.

Had to grocery shopping with the wife but I bought a timer while I was out so I could start cycling the light on and off. Do you always give YOUR plants a night cycle while vegging? What I mean to ask is should I start giving mine some dark time? 4 hours off? 6 hours off?

Its made by microbrewed fertillizers and is thier flagship product. I know it's a pk booster but not much more. you are supposed to use it like 3 weeks into flowering all the way to the end. I found a website for them just by searching the name but got turned onto it by the guy at my local hydro store. I paid $117 for a bottle about the size of a "big gulp" (oddly enough the amount of fluid inside the bottle is not on the label). I don't mind paying that to produce superior end results. For all I know its only worth $5. I just know that I'm pleased with the results. Also, you can't buy thier product from thier website. They will refer you to your closest dealer or you can apply there to become a distibutor of thier products but you can't buy directly from them. Wonder what thats about?
This nute is aweful for vegging just saying youd be better off with pennington all purpose for $2.50 a box from walmart

Yeah I was directing that question at you John. You seem to be the only one offering advice right now. FYI. . . I've never used the Black Magic durring veg, not ever. My last 2 grows (this is currently grow #4) I grew 2 plants side by side and at week 3 I started adding the BM all the way to the end to only one of the 2 plants. No other ferts were used in veg or flower. The differences were obvious but the plants that didn't recieve any were still happy looking with gorgeous buds just not as big or as many. I burnt up my first grow so badly that I swore nutes off altogether for grow 2 and 3. Now here we are at grow #4. This is the first time I'm growing purchased seeds. Its been bagseed up till now. I have the brand new digi 1000watter also and here I go messing things up by bringing the nutes back into play. DAMNIT! Should I flush the soil or just leave it the hell alone for now and let the soil dry out?

you didnt use any nutes at all? and i think the best light cycle is 18/6 for veg and then 12/12 to flower with. that most mimics nature unless its an auto, then 20/4 for the whole grow, just from what ive read.

I've been runnin the light 24/0 since they were born only cause i figured F-it let it grow around the clock till ur ready for 12/12. The more I investigate that the more i'm finding that a lotta people believe the plant needs a night cycle to develope well at all stages of growth including veg. I got a timer tonight so i'll switch to 18/6 and they'll get nothing but RO water at least for the remainder of their veg phase.
