Hey guys, was chompin`at the bit this morning to get in the tent and see what`s gone on since lights out for 30 hours during cycle switch. Girls have been unbound since the transplant and seem to have really liked the short-term freedom, will tie down again today and you`ll see the Mainline spread a tad in our last training efforts.

Anyways, here`s how we`re looking,

IMG-20130510-00481.jpg
The Family under their new sun ...

IMG-20130510-00482.jpg
Leader. Each of her 8 heads has grown 2-3in since lights off, got themselves ready for next rounds of ties :D

IMG-20130510-00483.jpg
Mohican, shaping up nice. Failed to mention that it`s two under nodes we`re recently pinched, now has solely the 4 Mainlined heads, to be trained further as well

IMG-20130510-00484.jpg
Fan favourite Mrs. Orange. This one will be the experiment of the bunch as it has it`s 4 ML`d heads, but I left the under nodes on as well in essence giving 8 to see how that works as the internodal spacing is so tight with some of these Caty phenos

IMG-20130510-00486.jpg
... and Jill. Getting more and more excited about her every day. Gets a crazy dank fruity smell later with lime and orange colored buds (hints of purple/blue), one of the strongest smelling strains I`ve worked with ever

IMG-20130510-00487.jpg
... and last but not least, the BuKu. Sitting under the 2 42w`s and now gettting 18/6 until end of month (nearly) and into the tent she goes to maintain the same canopy as the rest. The idea is every plant in the tent regardless of traits, will canopy at the same level.

Thanks for stopping in as always you guys, will update again with the last bits of training, and a regrowth update after I get back from the farm this weekend. Peace, love, and keep it green all,

KC :weed:

Am I the only one who really likes pics with the hps glow? So Ms. Orange will keep all her undernodes or just the ones she has now? Do you continue to pinch off the new undergrowth up to the main heads thru flower?

Looking great and appreciate your input man. Peace

Edit:
  • You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to KushCanuck again.

I`ll go over this very shortly for ya my man ;)

Rookie Question prob, but you recommend a 30 day dark period before switching to 12/12 ?, loving this.
Think you just have to reread the start of the last update Bilbo, haha. 36 hour dark period prior to 12/12

Lookin awesome KC, you certainly got your shit down pat bro :D
Thanks EC, I`d have to say you do as well :D

Update in about a hlaf hour, got a really good one for you guys tonight. Managed to get home early and pack in some work before the lights when out for te night. Thanks for the love guys, see you in a few!

So like I mentioned above, pretty happy with the progress on the ladies (and the OG18 harvest ;)), and came home early this weekend as it was snowing all day at the farm ... thought it was May now ...

Anyways, arrived home to some lovely new growth today, and Leader was ready for her last bits of training so I thought I`d take the opportunity to get some shots for RIU. Here`s what I came home to, no moving, or altering of any kind, haha,

IMG-20130512-00490.jpg
The Group ...

IMG-20130512-00493.jpg IMG-20130512-00495.jpg IMG-20130512-00494.jpg IMG-20130512-00496.jpg
... and here`s Leader, Mrs. O, Mohican, and Jill respectively. Some of the top nodes have run wild

Leaders shoots literary shot ... so she gets the training again. Gotta keep em in check ;)...

IMG-20130512-00499.jpg IMG-20130512-00500.jpg
Leaders 3/4 and Top Shots, pre-training ...

IMG-20130512-00501.jpg
Tie down of heads 1-2 ...

IMG-20130512-00502.jpg
... heads 3-4 ...

IMG-20130512-00503.jpg
... and 5-6 ...

IMG-20130512-00504.jpg
... and finally heads 7-8

And here`s a few of our final product, sitting about 6-8 inches of the top of the pot (work for ya Stone? ;)). Others should recieve a slightly different variation which I`m really excited about :D. Half of training and pruning them differently was all with the intention of having different canopy shapes, and a few look awesome (think I`ll still have another 8-header in the group ... ;)).

IMG-20130512-00505.jpg IMG-20130512-00506.jpg

... and a shot of the family just before bedtime for our next update in a few days time,

IMG-20130512-00508.jpg

Thanks for all the input guys, helps me keep my shit tip-top if at all possible, haha. Noticed a few deficiencies that will be addressed with our feeding tomorrow (Mag on Mrs. O and Jill, minor, early). Every time I make a cut or prune or training of any sort you guys will know about it why (Stone), appreciate having you guys with me. Keep it green all, peace and love,

Sounds like some pretty crazy springtime weather up your way, KC! On the 43rd parallel here and we are generally pretty safe by the end of April - hope the cold doesn't hurt your buddies crops.

Again, love the detail on the training update. Looks like Leaders got some stretch in her - stay on top of her man!

Just started another mainline today with one of leftover Hashberry cuttings. Should be interesting as I used one of the taller phenos and she has three branch nodes (not true polyploid but close enough for this application!). The tri-branch nodes repeated up to the 4th node (top) so it will be interesting to see if it continues on the new nodes: 3 - 9 - 27 would be cool! Even 3 - 6 - 2 beats 2 - 4 - 8. We'll see how it goes.

Just wanted pop in and say whats up! so...whats up? I had no idea you were doing a mainline project...very cool. Ive been looking into trying one in some organic soil and maybe try a hand a grafting if Im feeling dicey. Looks like things are looking healthy up north! Such a simple soil recipe is KILLING it with those roots! Treated with an able hand from the looks of it. Well keep in contact liking all those OG18 crosses! Ive got a couple pick and mix in my cart over at attitude and after reading these past few pages I might have to put the cataract Kush in there as well. -S0uP

You gotta be a pimp when it comes to your plants, think of them as hookers and strippers, the more you slap them around and treat them like shit, the harder they want to please. Keep them hoes in check:blsmoke:. Lookin good K.C. Good luck, Good grow, Be safe. :peace: out.

I'm glad when I moved my plants outside I left them in 5 gall buckets because i had to bring them all in sun till tuesday. I got a hole crop ruined a few years ago from a late freeze.
Looking good K.C.

Just finished topping up containers with our soil mix, watering (5ml/Gallon CalMag, straight), and training the Twins and Jill. Here`s a few shots, didn`t do as much process as I split Mo`s stem up the middle, and a top almost completely came off (not before Dr. KC jumped in with chop-stick splint and tape),

IMG-20130513-00512.jpg IMG-20130513-00513.jpg IMG-20130513-00514.jpg IMG-20130513-00515.jpg
Mohican, first side, no issues, second side we got our split. Last picture shows splinted side on the bottom, raised slightly higher than the rest of the canopy. The point was to let the under nodes be able to grow naturally and have the tops split (so four colas per stalk), but it seems I topped too close to the nodes initially. I`ll be keeping my eyes on that new growth...

IMG-20130513-00516.jpg IMG-20130513-00518.jpg
Mrs. O, went off without a hitch. Will spread the heads wider in another few days of growth. Just out, everything is down to my liking now...

IMG-20130513-00520.jpg
... and how everything stands afterwards. Jill had each of her heads trained in a psuedo-spiral so to better distribute light, with the tops tied down a bit to level everything. Will do a formal update on Friday at the start of Week 1 to track the progressive growth. Stay tuned, happy growing,

KC :weed:

Your in your element now bro. I'm starting to picture the technique a bit. You're filling the blanks in nicely as you update. I was going to try a mainliner for my next grow but the reality of summer growing in my air conditioner-less setup has me hesitant. I really want to have all my variables ideal before I devote a full on effort to deciding if I can make it work. So I think I'm gonna go with a 12/12 from clone sog for my summer grow. Nice and simple, quick and easy. Then I am gonna pop my freebie beans and try 2, 4 and 8 head mainliners. Taking some serious notes here and I'll be PM'ing a few more detailed questions your way. Thanks again!

Right on stone - if you are looking to bring mainling home, this thread is where it's at. KC is consolidating and filling in the gaps of the 2k+ posts in the original Mainling thread. Stay subbed!
