Hello all,
In the past I have been a hydro guy, but recently I switched to soil. And I have to say, I like the soil much better, less hassles, etc etc, but not opening that can of worms...
What I'm wondering about is drought/lack of water stress...
I am using these 4" square pots for my seedlings through sexing, currently I am 7 days into flower/sexing. So naturally, as they got bigger, they are about 10" now, they are using more water, especially with elevated temps and CO2. I'm having a bit of a time keeping them watered good because I travel twice a week and usually when I get home they have started to wilt.
Ok, here's the Q... I have heard through the years that drought stress can cause a plant to turn male, is this true? Can a vegged plant going into flower be stressed enough to be male? And here's the real kicker I wonder about...if it IS so, that they can turn out male because of the stress, what about the clones I have taken off the same plants that AREN'T stressed?
It doesn't seem logical if the stress is what caused the sex determination, that it would apply to the non stressed plants?
Ok, lets get this discussion rollin'...
