No the part that is wrong is you writing terrible ideas online and new people doing searches and reading your BS will then think its true. You haven't backed up any of your claims, I proved you wrong by showing cobs ARE ACTUALLY cheaper and more efficient. So you microwave your weed and like wasting money and electricity, great good for you. Just put disclaimers in your posts alerting people you've officially smoked yourself retarded and this should only be used as a ghetto last resort experiment.

If a person takes a random post in a weed forum as their only source for data then I guess they deserve what they get, now don't they? COBs are good if you want to burn some plants up, which I don't. Why would anyone want a bunch of concentrated light in a 1" diameter spot (approx)?

I guess your right, a small high powered source of light to illuminate a large area is just nonsense. The sun is clearly inefficient from your standards it seems.

that is the stupidest response i've ever read. move the cob AWAY from your plant to avoid light bleaching. it's probably that shitty Hoagland formula that is causing deficiencies which you mistake for light bleaching.

Seems like a no brainer to see Cobs are cheaper and more efficient.

TastyLED uses bigger heat sinks.

The light engines come completely built.

Kevin will help you so you have everything you need and answer any questions you have.

Also, $200, with shipping included, will get you two Vero29Cs driven at 1050 mA for about 70W passively. I'm sure you could push them to 1400 mA passively on those meaty heat sinks.

The pre assembled vero29c light engine from TastyLed is 60$. So for 2 let's say 120$. Plus driver puts you at 200 shipped as you say.

The price I said from Rapid LED is 125$ shipped WITH drivers. Please show how tasty is cheaper when they charge you 200 and Rapid LED charges 125?


TastyLed heatsink is 150mm
Rapid LED heatsink is 140mm.

That's just COBs and heat sinks, you still need thermal grease or the thermal pads, then assemble.

Two COBs and everything to go with them (potentiometer, wires, Wagos) are $200 shipped. Meatier heat sinks as well.

Mine just came in, I'm power hungry so I'm looking at a third COB and another driver.

Lol you got ripped off if you paid 200 for 2 cobs shipped. I paid 250 to Rapid LED for 4 cobs shipped. Keep telling yourself tasty is cheaper. And that's with Heatsinks, wires, m3 screws thermal pads and driver and connectors.

I doubt your COBs would compare to mine.

Citizen COBs are weak with terrible spectrums.

Believe me, I like DIY!!!

I just won't DIY if there is a better option and cost is affordable.

I won't use $9 chips, Rapid sells my chips for over $30 each. Add in just what you need to build a light engine and your over $100 for two. I believe their drivers were higher as well, the Meanwells not the shitty ones.

Citizen Cobs are actually great Cobs this statement shows how little you truly know about LEDs.

Well my cobs run Vero 29C 3000k 80CRI at 1050ma with a meanwell hlg-320h-c2100b so if you know anything about Cobs you'll know those are some of the best cobs and drivers you can use. You should probably stop posting to show how little you know.

I mean you think citizen cobs are terrible and weak? Hahaha

320W driver @ 2100 mA dimmed to 1050 mA?

Are the passively cooled or actively cooled?

Based on the numbers I wouldn't want to run them past 1400 mA with passive cooling. Even then I would have a fan blowing across the rig.

How many Veros?

I'm testing two Vero 29Cs right now, 3000K SE and 4000K SE.

When I was shopping around for my experiment I found Citizen COBs to be quite inefficient compared to other brands. This made sense with the fact they cost about half as much as other COBs.

They aren't terrible, the are entry level. Perfect for the first timer.

You see, this isn't my first rodeo. I've done my research, I don't talk out of my ass.

Are you using Citizen COBs as well as your Veros? Or just Veros?

The only part that matters is the light source. Not the driver, not the heat sinks, fancy frame or connectors. You can get 6 Vero 29c for 200 bucks.

Anything outside that parameter you are paying too much.
