Yeah, I usually use paper towel, but I decided to try something different this time. I'm regretting it now, I can't check on the seeds growth without rooting through the soil and possibly damaging the seeds.
So, looks like it's the waiting game.

Good luck! I am only doing clones atm and out of 2 grows with 20 plants between them, only 5 hermie'd/fail vegged. Not a bad ratio. I want to start using seeds, trying out non-local strains. I see alot of the same stuff making rounds here. Lots of variety, but the same buffet.
I need to make a dome or buy one suitable for seeds. I also have kind of read and gathered rapid root seed starters are not bad, helpful to beginners as you can just soak em in water till they all sink or sink after a light tap on the container then just plug em each into their little soil pod dealy. Seems easy enough.
On the note of Pro-Grow series lights - I am told my Pro-Grow 550 should arrive "in the early half of next week" as per Ben at HH. Love the CS he gives, quick and daily.
Meanwhile my girls are in day 22 of flower.

I am now using a dome as well but half the time now I just put a plastic bag on top of the container, I lift it up at least twice a day to give fresh air, works great.Good luck! Still no sign of 3 of them, or the Easyryder I germ'd either...
I'm going back to paper towel! lol
I'll post some pics of the Blue Hash and Pineapple Chunk seedlings later... The Blue Hash is looking pretty weird, hasn't done much in a couple days, the two little first leaves are still curled up big time.... The Pineapple chunk is looking great, second set of leaves are in, it's tall and growing like a weed

whatsup beefbisquit cant wait to see how the pg-180 works been looking at the 550 for a minute now but hardly anyone uses hydroponics hut it seems like. same thing happened to me trying to germinate in soil. freezer to paper towel on heat mat def best method ive tried so far

The others might have a chance... hard to say at this point....

In flowering I'd say no closer than 6-8".... you can put it higher in veg...

ok cool... I am about 10 days into flowering, I have about 12'' of room to raise my light and it is currently at about 7''... I dont want to shock the plant but at the same time I dont want to run out of room! so I guess I will raise the light a couple inches for now and I will keep tying the plant down for a while. thanks

I started 5 more seeds...

x1 Super Lemon Haze
I used Brita water this time, and I put them in paper towel in a dark, dark, warm spot.... I'm doing this by the numbers this time, no improv...

which led light to you like better. i just bought a blackstar 240 and am thinking about getting on more for my cab 2'x3', but the pg260 is about the same price and more watts

blackstar240s are $270 - $280 from (Gotham Hydroponics or Gotham's Ebay store)
pg260s are $409 (Hydroponics Hut)
that's 1.5 X more expensive for the pg260

not that I am arguing that the blackstar240 is a better light... because I am not... I don't have any experience with pro-grows

PG180($300) is 160 watts actual draw, Blackstar 240($280) is about 140-145 watts actual draw.
The PG260 is 180 watts actual draw....25% more actual power, with a better spectrum, better build quality, and changeable spectrum.
