Led-tech Zeuss 308xt build (kinda overkill)

Here we are after six 12 hour nights and five nights after the last pictures. The light has been running at about 5/6ths of full power and things look good. They are good 10cm taller now and I'll raise the light today accordingly. It's time to take cuttings too. I'm going to take two cuttings of each even though I'm pretty sure the keeper is going to be one of the middle plants, but who knows!

Everything is looking good, but it's still early days and plenty of time to fuck up.

Flowering started on day seven of 12/12 and today is day 11. I have been tying them down more than I thought I would. They are quite disciplined and know to keep their heads down, but I can never say no to girls who love bondage... I realised I've been giving more grow nutes than Biobizz recommends for their all-mix soil. Oops and I thought I was feeding low like I usually do. Luckily organics don't burn plants as easily.

I think I should trim some of the under growth, but I want to see how much penetration I get down the canopy, so I won't unless I really have to.

Oh, and the backs of the boards are 34 celsius. I can't believe they run so cool. They would probably be even cooler if I sucked air out from the top of the tent... it's just so much work to move the air duct and the fan that I haven't bothered yet. Temps seem to be fine in the tent anyways. The third pic is a diy silencer box I made for the exhaust fan a while back. Works fine, but makes moving things more difficult.

This is kalichakra from my first ever grow some 13 years ago. The picture was taken on day 10 so pretty much exactly at the same stage as these girls are now. I had two plants in 30 liter soil pots and fed them biobizz like I'm doing now. They were not in a tent, but the space was pretty much the same size and I had a cooltubed 600w hps in there. It will be interesting to compare this grow to the first grow. Sadly I only have a couple of pictures. These ladies were much smaller going to flower though. Four of those wouldn't fit in the tent :p

I finally borrowed a kill-a-watt meter from the library. Turns out I was right and the pots are not quite 100k ohm. Turned to full power one driver consumes 160w and with the pot disconnected it draws 174w.

I have been running the drivers at 115w. That means the boards have been running at about 52w per board, which is 600umol combined. I turned up the drivers to 150w ie ~70w per board. Which should mean they produce 780umol.

Now my head's spinning from running the numbers. I ain't no mathematician. Anyway, I watered the plants thoroughly yesterday and I'll check on them again tommorrow.

They might actually be 100k ohm, its quite normal for the driver to put out a bit more on max since they usually come in slightly over spec. People in the know get their 100k ohms, measure them and then add 10 or so in order to hit that last extra 10ish percent. For meanwell drivers its allways good to look at the report section on meanwells website: this is the actual output and details which tend to be slightly higher than the datasheet. But remember, doing this would be running your driver at 110% which might be questionable.

You dudes are so scientific with this shit!!! I guess I'm more of the type that says if it works well I'll stick with it... I never think about the numbers like you all have..

just poppin down the library for a kill-a-watt meter...yyuuppp.

looking good, man.

i flower around 7-800, seems to do the job. id go higher if i had Co2
I realize it may sound weird for some not living in Scandinavia, but they have those and some other stuff to borrow out :D yay social democracy  I think you can even borrow a few instruments to play at home or at a sound proofed room at the library.

Which scando you be? If its ok to ask... Thing is the whole grow situation is different in places like denmark and sweden i think. Been a fair few times over öresund and in Christiania...

You're quite correct. 174w*0.94=164w so with the pot it goes upto specs at 2.1a and without it it gives a little more. Good to know.

I'm in Finland (technically finland isn't scandinavia, but usually we get lumped in with them).

I'm not being a smart guy or anything but does all of this stuff really matter??? I just want to understand... I probably won't but at least I would know what makes you guys do what you do... The grow part is easy pretty much, The other side is like explaining astrophysics to a wino!!! You all have my utmost respect!!!

Define all this.

I know how you feel though, theres a lot to take in starting out with this. I was completely lost when i started out
